  • MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE APP
Style: Stereo (USB-A) Size: Unified Communications
I'm writing this review because this a great headset (recommend by the Wirecutter) but my initial experience was not good. There were disconnect issues, problems switching between devices and a annoying hum in the earpieces whenever the microphone was active. While searching support on the manufacturer's website for these issues I learned there's a smartphone app that can be used to adjust the headset's settings. Don't know if this was mentioned on the box but the documentation that came with the headset was very sparce so I missed this information initially. After downloading the app I was able to correct the above annoyances: a firmware update made the headset more reliable, I was able to turn the hum off completely (this was a togglable setting) and I could listen to music on my phone while connected to my work laptop at the same time (as advertised). Download the app or install the software on your PC so you can take full advantage of this headset's abilities. I'm deducting one star due to having to research a fix on my own instead of the manufacturer including a full manual with the product. ... show more

  • Nice to work hands free
Style: Stereo (USB-A) Size: Unified Communications
I had ordered a Poly Lens headset for $100 more than the Jabra, but I am pleased I returned it. This one is clear as a bell. I like that you can mute it by raising the microphone arm. It sits comfortably on my head with room to stretch, if necessary. I like the dual ears, not just one. It was a great purchase. I still bought the extended protection. Highly recommend. NOTE: as a supposed benefit, the power goes off if you lay it down on the table to conserve the battery. I listen to my iPhone music and talk cd’s and some seminars from the computer. Can’t lay down to listen on the sofa or bed. It shuts off. I hate that. But, from what I understand, most of the good headsets have this “beneficial” feature. I don’t think you can delete that feature. I’d buy it anyway! ... show more

  • So far so good with the 65s
Style: Stereo (USB-A) Size: Unified Communications
I bought a pair Jabra Evolvce2 75s about 15 months ago. Loved them in all respects. However, they developed a short in the mic boom just after the warranty ran. (I was often muted when I didn't want to be.) I compared the 65s to the 75. The 65 isn't as capable in noise cancelation and the mic is not as robust, but I opted to save the $30+. So far, so good. I primarily use them as a wireless headset witrh my iPhone for business. Clients say the sound is great. What I hear is great, both music and calls. BTW, I have been told I can double the 65 warranty by registering it on the Jabra website. ... show more

  • Cost + Features, not sure it is worth it
Style: Stereo (USB-A) Size: Unified Communications
This is the a review I left for the MS Modern Wireless headset, where I compare it with the Jabra Evolve2 65: I've been evaluating a few different wireless solutions to use with Teams and decided on the MS Modern Wireless Headset. I've tried the Jabra Evolve2 65 and the Jabra Elite 65t (paired with the Jabra link 380 that comes with the Evolve2 65). The MS Modern Wireless Headset works best with Teams (I've only tried on Windows). I think there must be some optimization going on because when I recorded samples using an audio recorder app, outside of Teams, the mic quality was not very good. But on a Teams call it sounded much better. The MS Modern Wireless Headset has many of the same features as the Jabra Evolve2 65 - status light on the usb receiver, raise mic to mute, on device controls for mute and volume. The volume wheel on the MS Modern headset is superior for me, as opposed to the buttons on the Jabra. The sound on the Jabra mic is superior in all ways (clarity and noise cancelling). Both are light and should be comfortable for most people to wear for extended meetings. But, I have a real problem with the fit of the Jabra. They do not sit well on my ears, and tend to turn in. This causes the mic to touch my face or glasses when lowering it. The Jabra headset does also not feel solid on my head, causing me to hold it on top when moving the mic up or down. I haven't had any problems with it, but the Jabra mic feels flimsy compared to the MS Modern Wireless Headset. The MS headset fits me perfectly, feels light, and rests on my ears at a perfect angle. The MS headset also looks a bit more professional to me, if that is important to you. It sits closer to my head than the Jabra and is slightly smaller. The battery on the Jabra Evolve2 65 will last longer, but the MS headset will easily get through 2 days for me. The Jabra has many setting in the Jabra Direct app, while there is nothing to adjust for the MS headset. The MS headset doesn't have the Sidetalk feature of the Jabra (where you can hear yourself a bit). That is fine for me because the MS headset doesn't completely isolate hearing for me - the ear cups let a little outside sound in so I can hear myself talking. Then, there is the cost difference. The Jabra Evolve2 65 is more than double the MS Modern Wireless Headset. Despite the fit issues, I don't feel the Jabra are worth double. I also tried using the Jabra Elite 65t paired to the Jabra link 380 that comes with the Evolve2 65. This is probably not "officially" supported by Jabra, but you can an official Teams certified version of the 65t that includes the Jabra link (that seems very very expensive to me, though so I thought I would try this set up). The problem I had with the 65t was I couldn't get a good balance of the Hear-Through feature and had that ear plug feeling while talking. The Jabra link can be purchased separately, but it seems really costly to me. The Elite 65t are rather old at this point and only have 5 hours of battery life, and charge the case over micro usb. However, the mics on the 65t do a great job, which was unexpected. The same 65t earbuds paired to bluetooth in Windows had worse range, sound, and mic quality, so the Jabra link does help a lot. One thing to note is the range. I was able to walk about 30 feet away with the Jabra (both the Evolve2 65and Elite 65t) before noticing any problems. The MS headphones seem to lose a bit of audio at about 20 feet (going through a couple of walls). I was able to heard just fine, but people on the calls noticed my audio getting choppy at those distances. This will be fine for my case, but might be an issue for others to consider. If you need a solid performing wired headset, I would go with the Jabra Evolve2 30. I found this had the best features for the price in a wired headset, and purchased one to use as a backup. ... show more

  • Need app to reprogram with app.
Style: Stereo (USB-A) Size: Unified Communications
My only complaint is that I could not program the headphones with the buttons on the headset, as the manual directed me to do. I had to install special software on my computer to program the headset to turn the LEDs permanently off, make it stop echoing my voice and keep it from talking so loud that I couldn't hear the caller. The build quality is excellent, the sound quality could not be better, the soundproofing just right for an office, and the volume sufficiently loud. Everything is at least one level better than the original Jabra Evolve 65. As on most electronics, the default settings are awful. There is a loud voice that overpowers the caller's, so if I switch to Bluetooth while on a call, I miss out on the conversation while it tells me how to connect or reminds me to lower the boom. Also, there is some kind of feature so I can hear my own voice, which would be great for a singer, but was distracting to me. I called customer service and discovered the app solved multiple issues, some of which were not clear in the instructions. I strongly recommend this specific headset for people who need to avoid active noise-cancelling headsets. Note: For people sensitive to blue LED lights, the on light and the USB transmiqtter both flash blue lights. The former is easy to cover with vinyl tape. ... show more
