Perfect GPS for the price! My goal is to hit the green so I'm primarily interested in the distance to the front/middle/back of the putting green. Some of my golfing partners carry a GPS and Range Finder to accurately assess yardage/inches to the flag, but the average weekend golfer only requires the 3 primary distances to the putting green (in my opinion). The Izzo Swami 6000 Handheld Golf GPS is accurate, easy to read, great magnet, water proof (yes), and lasts about 2 rounds (but I charge after each round). I bought this as a replacement for my Garmin Approach G8 which I have had since it came out but the screen died and needed something new. The Swami 6000 is a great product and if I had never owed the G8 I would not have ever switched from this. The only thing I now miss is the hole maps from the G8. I play new courses all the time and the hole and green maps were something I will miss a lot. That being said, the things I like even more about the Swami 6000 are the magnetic back which makes connecting it to the cart so simple. Also the screen is very easy to read, bright and no clutter to get in the way. I tested yardages with me sons laser and found the closer I got to the whole the more accurate it is with only about a yard or two difference when looking at a center pin locations. With all that the only thing I found I do not like is the automatic hole switching. I had hit a drive a bit left and found myself in another fairway and it switched from hole 7 to hole 16. Even after selecting the right hole it updated again and never could get a good number. ... show more

What I like about the Izzo Swami 6000 Handheld Golf GPS is the easy to understand display of hazards. Un like the phantom 2 the display for front middle and back of the green is large readable print and the diplay of the hazards is easy to understand. If you are squinting at you display on your GPS watch or handheld take a look at the Izzo Swami 6000 Handheld Golf GPS, it is afforadable and I have checked the accuracy with other GPS usnits on the same hole with no differance in yardage. Also if you have ever just picked up the phantom 2 you have probably advanced a hole by accident the Izzo Swami 6000 Handheld Golf GPS design is well thought out to prevent that from occuring. ... show more

I bought this item on October 10th, 2024. I used it approximately 3 times a week and then about 3 weeks ago froze. I contacted the company and they told me how to fix it. It has once again frozen and this time the fix didn’t work. Just be aware that it may not last more than 5 months. That’s disappointing… ... show more

The price point was right, so I took the plunge. The 1-year warranty got me from purchase to failure, so plan to budget for an annual purchase if you buy this product, it seems. The positives are pretty good - nice screen, good accuracy, extensive choice of courses. The big negative is durability, and some odd quirks in charging provide another challenge. The Swami would just not charge on occasion, and it did not work while connected to a power bank I keep in the bag. The “OK” rating is mostly about the product’s life span. Mine was well treated, but lasted only one month longer than the limited warranty - 13 months. ... show more
