Well. I’ve been a pro bassist for about 45 yrs. Played all over the world, national tours, bla bla bla. I recently was seeing this IYV ibsy-600 come across my feed. Looks beautiful, active electronics, extended range , 6 strings. After looking at all the models under $500, I chose this bass, I just had a feeling. This is not a “ cheap bass”, nor is a step down from something more, “well known” This bass is worth way more than the $300 price tag. Not only that, I’m now using it as my go to bass, full sound, low action, yes I had it setup, but it was very close to being ready to play. Packed well, came quickly. Not a scratch on the delivery box, I highly recommend this bass, and any other bass this great company makes. I will buy more, you can too.

Let me start by saying that I repair instruments for a living. So, this instrument needed a lot of fretwork. There was a little bit of damage to the side of a fret (see pic), but I was able to address it all. And customer service did take care of me when I brought it to their attention by offering a discount. The nut grooves needed attention and the saddles did too. By this I mean they needed to be recut deeper. I used rounded files to get it playable as I like it. Put all that aside and the bass plays great now, it has a simple preamp but, the mids are very useful in dialing in 2-3 sounds without having to control much else. When you add the pickup blend with this, you’ve got a good palette of sounds. Eventually I’m replacing the preamp for an Aguilar of some kind. There’s a bit of neck dive. It’s not the heaviest bass I’ve got. I think my EBMM5 weighs a little more. Eventually I’ll strip the neck of its finish and seal it with Tung Oil because the gigs I play make me sweat profusely and the finish causes too much drag. Oh and one IMPORTANT reason I bought this bass… it is a 35” SCALE length. I needed a taut B string and this delivers ! I also have the 7 string version. (See pic) I play mostly 5 string basses but the IYV 5-string is only 34” scale and the 6 and 7 string basses pickups are different (better too) than those on the 5- string version. I bought one and because it’s not specified that it’s 34”, I sent it back. Another thing of important note. This bass and the Harley Benton are the same instrument. It’s because of the tariffs that made me search elsewhere for a 7 string bass, so I bought the IYV 7. Then I bought this 6. Way cheaper and I had it ~3 days later. Definitely worth the investment and work.

Absolutely beautiful finish on my IYV-IBSY 600 Bass. It was playable out of the box although I will put better strings on it and intonate it to my personal taste. Unbelievable deal for under $300 bucks! Surprised and pleased by the build quality and tone and the thru the neck body sustains notes nicely. I feel like I'm playing a very expensive instrument. Highly recommend before the price goes up! Oh..and she's a little bit weighty but manageable!

I gambled with quality control and won this time. Slight truss rods adjustments after removing the abhorrent industrial tension sandpaper strings. Zero problem with intonation or action. Perfect? No. Really nice with new strings. Yes. Looks good too.

I have an Omega 6 D’Mark and an Ernie ball music man 5 HH. This bass is fantastic. Thin neck, I got the action extremely low and fast. Neck is dead flat. Perfect. Double truss rod. 18v active that attenuates at the preamp. Super loud if you want it. Volume knob pills up to go passive. Pickups sound good. Fretwork is exceptional. Could not be happier. Ibsy-600 neck through is my model. The funny thing. I bought it used for $173 on amazon. It came with the headstock completely broken off. Amazon gave me my money back and let me keep it. I epoxied it back on. Plays like a dream. I have a Les Paul same thing happened to a long time ago and I glued it back on. Better than ever. Seriously, if you are looking for a 6 string, get this bass - you will love it. It took me a long time to find one in stock. If I see another on Amazon I’ll buy it and give it to someone. Such a great bass! I tuned it up with a pickguard. Trying to be like gelber and sons, their stuff is so inspiring.

This Bass is beautiful real sycamore top. Excellent workmanship feels great, filed the frets a lil and changed the strings and wow, this is a professional instrument. Plays wonderful. Highly recommend will post pics soon!

Awesome well crafted instrument. Active EQ, real tiger striped maple body (not veneer), decent hardware and plays well. Can’t beat it for the price!
