I needed a boom arm for my Shure SM7B that was versatile not just in positioning the arm, but in vertical adjustment. Beforehand, I purchased a Gator Frameworks 3000 boom arm and didn't realize that this arm was limited to vertical positioning (sucks because it wasn't cheap!) So, I was in the pursuit of a new arm and lo and behold, this one hit it on the nail! PROS: - Extremely sturdy and didn't slide off my desk like the Gator boom - Super easy to install, even has an extension arm for further reach - Stable - hasn't moved an inch - Cost-effective against competitors - no need to waste more for limited features, this is enough! CONS: - The vertical positioning ball needs to be adjusted where the cutoff is holding the weight. If you just position the mic with the rolling ball open in the bottom, it will fall, but just takes some adjustment, nothing too hard (see photo) - The 3/8 adapter got stuck to my SM7B adapter so I suggest putting some lube or WD-40! It was a mission to take off, I had to ask my husband lol. Overall, 9.5/10 and great buy!

The media could not be loaded. With this set of adapters, I was able to make use of my extra desk mic stand that's just been laying around and and use it for a variety of things. I was able to use it as a camera stand for my mirroress Canon camera, as a desk light stand for streaming and doing reviews like this and as a teleprompter stand. I like the look of it being black as it just blends with the mic stand itself, and the rest of my video and camera gear that are black. I like that it has a beautiful textured external surface for easily tightening it with your hand or thumb without the need for tools. It is a very versatile set of adapters as it can adapt to step up to a 5/8 from a 1/4 interface and vice versa. The build quality is excellent and it's very lightweight if it matters to you. Once tightened it is very sturdy on the mic stand and it can hold your camera, phone, lights, soft box or teleprompters in place without worrying it falling off. It is very easy to set up. It's just threaded on by hand and don't over tighten it unless you're doing it for permanent installation. I only have one word of caution when you're fitting the 1/4 adapter, it is longer than the normal ones that you usually see. I used this on my Neewer iPhone cage and bolt was too long that it almost scratch my phone that was inside the cage. Good thing it has a rubber liner that protected my phone from getting dented or scratched. You would benefit from using a rubber washer or just a regular washer if you have one laying around, but if you don't, I would be careful threading it in so as not to scratch your phone or damage your expensive camera. That's why I'm taking one star off this review and I hope it will save you from committing that mistake. For less than 10 bucks, this is well worth the money to invest in making extra mic stand laying around and use it for something more useful in your daily workflow that you can easily move around. I highly recommend this for vloggers, streamer, photographer and videograpers out there!

Overall a great mic arm - I can position it however I need it and shove it out of the way when I don't, it mounts securely to my glass desktop, it holds up a fairly heavy capsule mic with shock mount and pop filter with no complaints. The cable channel and headphone holder are nice touches, and it's mostly made of nice solid metal parts. Except one. The ball joint that actually attaches to the microphone is cheap plastic and can't hold nearly the weight that the armature itself can, so essentially it offers a strong stable arm with a limp sagging wrist, no matter how hard I tighten down the screw. Maybe it would be a better experience with a lighter microphone - mine is on the heavy side, but it doesn't exceed the specs of the arm - and because it's otherwise good quality. Replacing this one 50 cent plastic part with a slightly sturdier equivalent would instantly make this a 5 star product.

Over the years I've had a lot of mic boom arms but I have to say that this one is the best! Sturdy, nice tight feel, quiet, and stays in place even when I accidentally bump it. Keeps my mic cable organized and out fo the way and bridges comfortably over my mixing board and recorder. GREAT BOOM!
