I wanted to be able to take this Laser engraver as an entry level tool and learn a new hobby with hopes of maybe a new skill as well. Gotta say there are a lot of things that made this task more difficult then it should have been. First, this review is only for the hardware itself and not for any of the additional required software needed to get the engraver operational. The instructions are abysmal. One double sided page is what comes with the unit. There is a QR code that takes you to a assembly video, that is somewhat helpful. The translation and the images in the sheet are just bad. Putting it together resulted in placing one of the side rails on the wrong side. One rail has measure markings and the other does not, but the instructions fail to make it clear which one goes where. It took close to 4 hours to assemble the unit, locate software that will communicate with the device successfully and lots of trial and error testing before we were able to finally get the test print to work. The published description of the power of the laser is very confusing, it states both 50 watt and 5 watt. Again there is no printed specifications for this laser to know for sure what it is. One of the pictures in the posted description states it is a 10 watt laser, when you are dealing with this type of device, true specifications are a MUST, not only to understand the capabilities of the toll but for safety as well. The plus is that after all the grief getting it put together, and finally getting the software to talk, the engraver actually does work pretty well. So overall it will do the job, but the documentation is seriously lacking and because of that, safety issues could be posed.

Assembly was easy. The only issue I had was what the laser height off the material should be. I emailed IWECOLOR and they promptly responded showing me a pic of how to set it with what was in the box that I didn’t realize. After running tests, product works great.

Seems like a good tool to get started with engraving as a hobby. If anything it'd give you an idea of what you like and don't like in an engraver. Wish there were a bit more instructions since it's my first time using it.

Sadly this is priced as a entry level engraver which targets those new to using such devices so you would expect the manufacturer to provide documentation and instructions to match and that is NOT what you get. As a beginner prepared to take your time and likely get frustrated setting this up and getting ready to use. The good news is that once you do get everything working the engraver is actually a good engraver and really does help as a beginner to get an idea of what you can do with an engraver. There is a video you can watch which will help but really sad and frustrated at the lack of help the manufacturer provides with a product clearly priced as an entry level product and targeted to people without experience with such devices.

The good parts are that this does a fine job of actually burning a design. I haven't tried cutting with it, though. I'm using this with Lightburn. Assembly is easy. The rails are solid and the wheels move smoothly. Unfortunately, the corner posts are not as robust as the Genmitsu I've been using and the laser assembly can wiggle fore and back, though I haven't used it enough to tell if that is a problem while burning. The 'manual' is sparse, at best, and useless as instructions for use. Be sure to watch the video on YouTube. The price is pretty good.

The media could not be loaded. Machine was fairly easy for me to set up and get started with. Don’t expect this to be like an inkjet printer that you can just plug in and start printing. This is a hobbyist machine. But if you enjoy tinkering with things such as 3D printing and learning about how things work and how to tweak and adjust things to make them better you can have a lot of fun with this laser engraver. As you can see in the video I have already made enough adjustments to get a pretty good quality engraving done and I already have some ideas to make it even better. If you look at the label on the laser head you will see that it is a latitool model 50 laser head so I will suggest that you to google search “latitool f50 laser engraver manual” as it can be very helpful in getting started. There is also a YouTube video called “How to adjust your laser from moving” that I found helpful. Overall I am pleased with this engraver and look forward to doing many projects with it.
