I purchased this a year and a half ago and it has served us very well. I had a rib problem when I ordered this and I wore it constantly for weeks. It really helped me. It gave me support and that helped ease the pain. It probably aided in the healing as well. My husband who has back problems that only worsen over the years. Uses it now each time he goes outside to walk around. He also has a similar item with the vertical supports in it for sitting. He finds the all elastic rib support to be what he needs outside puttering about a little. I am going to order another one. Today we both wanted to wear it at the same time. They wash up really well. I use cold water and don't put it in the dryer. A good wash revitalizes it,usually. It is starting to look a bit tired. I will see if washing restores it again. If not, it has done its job. We are very satisfied with the support and comfort it has given us.

Hi, I broke my sternum. It took a few months to heal. I bought this bandage and used it wrap around my chest when I had to move and do things. It was the BEST. It is comfortable, breathable and stretchable. And it provided tons of support! I highly recommend.

This item seems to work well as I have a rib cartilage issue from golf. It seems to stabilize the rib cage well. In regards to sizing: Locally I bought a size "Medium" which was too small by about 2" and fit uncomfortably tight. (I have a 35" waist", and 42" chest). It was the only size the local store had in stock, so Amazon to the rescue. I ordered the XL size as I figured too big is better than too small. Luckily it fit very well and has tons of adjustment up or down in sizing. Hope this helps.

Buyer beware: Consider your body type before purchasing this product. Because it is a single band with even tensile strength across the band, it could be harmful to those who have more of a "V" shaped chest. I recently suffered cracked and bruised ribs and bought this to provide support at work. I work a desk job and just want to get through a day. Despite fastening it for a snug fit, it began to slip out of position toward my waistline. Later in the day I felt a distinct "pop" and have been in far worse pain the rest of the day. The worst of my injury was in my lower right rib cage. Once this belt slipped and the edge of it was tugging on my lowest rib(s), the rib gave way and fractured completely. This event may have been an outlier, but from someone with multiple degrees in kinesiology and well versed in biomechanics, I know exactly what happened. If you have a larger gut/lower abdomen or are more barrel-shaped, this belt should be fine. But if you have more of the aforementioned "V-shape" chest with a lower rib injury, this item will put you at further risk of exacerbating your injury.
