PURPOSE I purchased these for the sole purpose of noise reduction while operating loud equipment in my woodworking shop. The BT connectivity to my Echo Dot was an added bonus as they allow me to listen to music without interruption as I move from quiet work to loud machine work. They're also comfortable enough that I don't have to worry about removing them during extended periods of work that does not require hearing protection. Another benefit of the BT 5 is the multi-connectivity that allows me to hear my phone ring regardless of ambient noise level while still connected to my music source. PHONE CALL NOISE-CANCELING FEATURE I tested the noise-canceling feature during a phone call with my wife while purposefully using a Festool Domino Joiner coupled with a CT 26 Dust Extractor. For those unfamiliar with this combo, they're quite loud and the Domino makes quite a bit of racket. The ISOtunes did an amazing job of filtering the noise from my side of the conversation to the extent she had no difficulty hearing me (since English is her second language, background noise can be a real barrier for her). SOUND QUALITY Studio quality headphones these are not. But, then again, anyone expecting to do critical listening while planing lumber in a shop (or any other loud work environment) must set their expectations accordingly. I listen to mostly smooth jazz, 70's light rock, and 80's rock, and the frequency response is more than adequate from a device whose primary purpose is to filter out damaging levels of environmental noise. To my ears, the bass is adequate (may require some boosting) while the higher frequencies experience the most roll-off. BATTER LIFE I can't say that I get the listed eight hours of battery life- closer to six. And when it starts telling you the battery is low, it means it; you have about 90 seconds of use before they turn off. OVERALL These function very well for limiting loud and damaging noise in a woodworking environment, e.g. planers, dust collectors, table saws, power miter saws, routers, etc. They do a decent job of playing audio content (for in-ear noise protectors). The only gripe I have would be the battery life but a quick charge during lunch/break mitigates this issue. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for hearing protection with audio distraction while working in their shop.

These are great. I am the owner of Cold War Concealment, so I'm in the shop with loud equipment all day. I've also got to be able to hear the phone ringing, and listen to music or podcasts. With these I can do it all! With the NRR, I can operate the machines in the shop and not damage my hearing and if a call comes in I won't miss it. It comes with a few different tips to fit your ears, I had to try a couple and then found the perfect fit. The sound quality is very good, and the music is limited to not damage your hearing. With that said, its still loud enough to hear Sammy Hagar or Def Leppard just fine in a loud environment like the shop or when I'm mowing the grass Battery life is great - lasts all day. Phone quality - pairs with my Android super fast. clarity on phone calls is great. Noise cancelling - the ear pro is NOT electronic noise cancelling. They are attenuators, and work well. The mic for the phone IS noise cancelling, and to test it one time, I called a friend and while we were talking, I started the lawnmower. He stated that he could hear it but did not believe it was a lawnmower. He could barely hear it and we carried on a conversation while I mowed. YMMV on that one depending on the equipment, I don't think that would work that well with super loud equipment such as the high speed router in the shop.

Sound quality was never that great, and they quit charging after only 7 weeks. I never left them in the sun, dropped them in water, or anything like that. I always had the cover on the charging port when they weren't charging. They just stopped working. I tried all the troubleshooting to get them kick started again with no luck. I only had them in the first place for my job, but it's not worth it. I'm just going to wear ear plugs. I would not recommend these, they're garbage. Edit*** I reached out to customer service at Isotunes and they sent me a replacement. They were very helpful, they only asked me to try charging it with a laptop overnight once. After that didn't work, they sent me the same set for free. It's to bad the old ones broke, but customer support took care of it.

At first, I loved this Bluetooth. It didn't provide that much noise cancellation to protect you from, say, a construction site like it claims, but it definitely helps dampen the sound by about 30 decibels. However, after just a few months of owning it and now being on month eight of ownership, the Bluetooth has become barely usable. Most of the time, when I connect to a call, the other person cannot hear me consistently. In addition, this Bluetooth AMPLIFIES feedback like you wouldn't believe inside of your eardrums. Think screeching, high-pitched, high-frequency noises of an incredible decibel level at any volume whatsoever from people doing things like shuffling papers or taking medication on the other line. This has often seriously hurt my ears, and resulted in me turning the volume down to max low, or on speaker, notifying them of how loud the sound is. I can't exactly ask them to just stop doing what they are doing (which isn't exactly easy or fair for them). The whole point of a Bluetooth is to be able to multitask while calling others. Others can hear my actions just as loud, and some have commented that while I am opening a bottle, it sounds like an incredibly loud high decibel noise on their end that often hurts their ears. Every movement with me cooking is the same, even if I purposefully try to chop lightly. Often times, both of us are saying, "What did you say?" in response to one another. If I even move the Bluetooth around my neck slightly to adjust it to the middle, it becomes incredibly choppy on their end and they can't hear anything I say. Also, when I bend my neck down slightly, the Bluetooth cuts out entirely. This sound quality is totally unacceptable in an $80 device. Music quality started off as pretty solidly good, not audio-phile worthy but responsive bass, balanced trebles and decent midrange. It has since degraded to become tinnier-sounding and just "average" to mediocre quality. The only thing decent about it is the noise-cancelling earpieces when you are surrounded by loud traffic, and you need something to block your ears with; but a pair of $1 earplugs will do the same thing! Thus, I'm only using this Bluetooth now because I can't afford anything more than $80, which is what I invested in with this one. I'm highly disappointed in the fast-term degradation of this Bluetooth, and I hope the company will do something in regards to a warranty protection. If you're considering a long-lasting Bluetooth, look elsewhere.

Background: I was looking for some noise cancelling ear buds to replace a pair of WorkTunes over-the-ear style headphones. I wanted noise cancelling, Bluetooth and earbud style for use when mowing my grass. I have all sorts of hearing protection variants/style that my friends/family and I mostly use when target shooting. The good: These earbuds check all three boxes for what I was looking for. I like that they are small and lightweight, as well. They paired easily. The sound is middle tier. They stay in my ears, just fine, even while bouncing around on a lawnmower. They even came with a few different sized ear cushions, to properly size them to your ear. They charge quickly and even have an indicator light for the status of that process. I like that the earbuds have magnets on the outer ends, so they will 'lock' together when not in use, helping keep them around your neck. The bad: Ok, so my only 'serious' complaint with these is the connection quality. Yes, I could complain a little bit about sound quality, if I wanted to, but that just feels like nit picking at this price point. Plus, I am just using them to mow. I don't care about the quality all that much. No, they don't sound as good as my $200+ electronic noise cancelling over-the-ear muffs I use when shooting. But should they, at a quarter of the cost and 1/20 the size? The connection quality is an issue, though. Maybe I got a bad unit. I don't know. But they do seem to cut out, actually, quite frequently. It is only for a fraction of a second at a time, but it is frequent enough that I wish I hadn't purchased them. I was hoping it was just an issue that was isolated to my phone. Sadly, it was not just my phone. My household has many different Bluetooth enabled devices and they ALL have issues with these earbuds. They pair fine, but will regularly drop audio for a bit, on and off. I was hoping it was just interference from the mower or another source, too, but I have tried them all over the house, in the middle of a field, random places, you name it. They just don't keep a solid connection, it would seem. IT doesn't matter how charged they are or what I am doing. They just don't work as well as I would have liked. So, back to my old WorkTunes that are falling apart. :) Conclusion: Personally, I wish I had NOT bought these. But that is me. I had an old pair of WorkTunes that I was just replacing because they were getting beat up and old. Plus, I didn't want an over-the-ear style, anymore. Sweating while mowing with those on was getting pretty nasty. On paper, the ISOtunes fit the bill. Sadly, their poor performance is hindering them a bit. If you are the type that doesn't care about the regular sound drops, you won't regret the purchase. They charge fast. I have never had them die on me in the 3-4 hour yard work sessions. The audio quality is decent/average. If you know how to properly insert ear plug style noise cancelling devices, you will get more than enough dB reduction to suit your needs for most applications. I will be switching back to my WorkTunes, though. I have a hard time coping with the frequent audio hiccups. It is very frustrating and distracting, to me. I will throw these in the drawer with my spare hearing protection for when more people than usual come over to shoot with us. I just cannot use them for their intended purpose, like I had hoped.

Just got these, had a 30 minute phone call at half volume and they are still showing 100% charge. Happy to report the 2.0 model has USB-C. Some older posts complained theirs were USB-Bmicro. Makes me wonder if they received counterfeits. Same people complained about delaminating issues and that the body was sple shrink tube. Mine feel solid like ABS plastic, so I'm wondering if some unlucky souls received counterfeit models. Audio quality is bassy and has enough punch that I'm using at half and quite satisfied. They really REALLY do block the sound well as ANSI rated ear protection. Call quality is acceptable, even with background noise. I stood by an exhaust fan and called my wife and she could still hear me over the background noise fairly well. Will update my review after a drive in a loud service truck and road noise. Will definitely revise if battery life goes down over time as others reported. So far, I'm very impressed with these headphones, enough so that I think other reviewers are either lying or got scammed. Love them so far!

The sound is good, and I was surprised by the amount of bass they had. It gets plenty loud for me, even with factory noises and OSHA 85 decibel regulations. Noise cancelation is nice, but it can be uncomfortable after a while. They give a variety of earplugs which I haven't tried so that might work better for me as well, as the very least it's options. Lastly the battery: The battery life was great. I work 9.5 hour shifts and they lasted about 8 hours on a not full charge, and about 10 on a full charge (with 7-8 hours being music). Even accidentally left them playing on the ride home (wasn't wearing them) and they were still going when I went to plug them in and realized. Hopeful the battery health is good too and that keeps up, if it isn't I will try to update the review later (only time will tell). Great product overall. Edit: First impressions were good, but the earbuds quickly had issues. After a couple months an earbud completely stopped working. The magnets they have love attracting little metal chips, so enjoy having that in your ear. The sound on the last earbud is failing now as well, and I can barely hear it on media that other OSHA hearing devices play well. The only sound it makes that is readily audible is a very loud ringing noise if you turn the volume up to max, which is loud enough to hurt my ears. I will be going with a different earbud for my replacement.

Ok, so I don’t use these for work. Here’s the story: I don’t sleep worth a crap. I use podcasts and/or audiobooks to get to sleep. I go to bed much earlier than my hubs, so I needed a way to block his tv/gaming noises while I tried to sleep. I used to use good earplugs with a set of headphones turned up over my ears. Unfortunately, if you’ve ever tried to sleep with full headphones on, you’ll know that lying (laying? Who remembers?) on my back was the only position that was tolerable. So, in desperation I tried to find what these earplug headphones do. I even tried making my own with earbuds and earplugs. Not terribly successful. The, lot and behold, I saw these on a DIY Network show, I Want That! Boy, did I want that A LOT!!! Came to Amazon, and they had them! And they work really well! Not quite as soundproof as earplugs alone, but almost and the sound is amazing! I get replacement ear tips for them on Amazon, too, and as long as they’re available, I’m set for life. I leave them in all night (along with my full face CPAP mask, and a sleep mask), and I’m in sensory depravation mode for the night. Even if I play stuff all night, the batteries NEVER run out (usually I use sleep timers & turn back on when I wake up over and over through the night). Can’t recommend them enough. They’d be great for anyone with any kind of job, even if it doesn’t require hearing protection. If you want to concentrate without hearing other people wasting time around you, they’ll be perfect. Promise. And unlike so many these days, I never lie. I do have an ulterior motive though: if you buy them they’ll stay in business till I croak and don’t need them any more!
