I purchased this after doing research and finding out this is the same company that makes the Hornady sonic cleaner but at a much better price. Looking at the pictures I thought it would be too big, but have found it to be more compact than expected. It easily holds a BCG or a full-size 1911 pistol frame. I use it primarily for cleaning gun parts. It is not very loud but does have a really high-pitched noise that may be irritating to some. I have used it three times now and works as expected. This cleans well, better than others that do not heat as much. This goes to 145F, 10F higher than some. The extra heat seems to add cleaning power. Its timer maxes at 8 minutes but you can reset it back up to 8 while it is running. 20 min seems to be necessary for heavily carbonized parts but things like fountain pen nibs and jewelry are much quicker and do not require the heat. It's "okay", marginal value. These units seem to be hit'n'miss for me. I was able to keep this one. However for it's spec, not cleaning as prior units have and same spec. I don't like that I am very limited by the Maximum time limit and have to run it multiple times for the length I want. And, It's just not "robust" looking for feel as prior units were, - feels, looks "cheap" so to speak, in my opinion and use, experience. And, ultimatiely, all things being the "same", - I have less dirt at the bottom and less clean on the item which is very concerning. It becomes like being a "part time job" with some of this stuff to purchase and return until? So, I "settled" with this as okay for now, which means I'll always be somewhat unhappy until the next unit. And, hope for ? a long time ? - LOL, counter intuitive there, ironic. It may last and last and then so will my discontent. For all I know, only half the units for vibration are working? - how would I know, you know?! ... show more

Hi, my name is Mr. Skeptical I used to take the chain off my high end road bike, in order to clean it properly. This involved using a tub of gasoline, brushing the chain, sloshing it around, letting it sit for an hour. Then, another round of the same, gasoline treatment, sloshing, etc. After that I had to use a degreaser to make sure all of the gasoline was off of it. After the degreaser I had to use a water hose to spray the chain and get it spotlessly clean. After that, I'd hang it to dry. All the while I had to use gloves, endure gasoling vapors, etc. With this thing, I put a small amout of diluted degreaser into a Freezer bag, drop the chain into the freezer bag, seal it, and drop that into this machine full of water. I press a couple buttons and walk away. When I come back, the chain is perfectly clean! I'm like, Are You Kidding Me? Wow, it's totally amamazing. I love it. Enjoy ... show more

    • Good machine to clean carburetors and shower heads

We purchased this machine after trying two others. The two others died almost immediately. We are happy to report this model has been used to clean several small engine carburetors and three shower heads partially clogged with hard ware junk. It has not (yet?) failed. The 25 minute timer is so much better than the 300 second timer on other models. You can drop a part in the tank and forget about it. ... show more
