Smells a bit like paint when it first comes out of the package. Smell goes away in a couple of days. The rug is very very soft. Very happy with it.

Nice and soft but once dirt and small debris get in there it’s stuck and cannot be vacuumed out! You have to pull it out and also with the pieces of rug. Not an ideal rug for anyone unless you like fluffy soft stuff. And the bigger the rug, the harder to clean. Sticking with original textured rugs! Also, if you choose to vacuum this type of rug you need a certain vacuum and not one with wheels. It will completely destroy the rug. If you want a thorough cleaning you will have to take a dog brush and go over all the area multiple times just to get all the dirt and debris out but will take forever and you still have dirt at the bottom. This shaggy rug exceeded my expectations! I was a bit unsure about it at first, but once I unrolled it and placed it in my living room, I knew I had made the right choice. The color is vibrant and not dull at all, which adds a nice touch of warmth and style to the room. I must have high expectations because this did not exceed my expectations. It’s not as thick as others have made it seem, it’s a little slippery to walk on and it looks like a cheap throw blanket on the floor BUT it’s a temporary solution for a rug until I find another one so it does what i need it to do for the time being.
