I bought this ISDIR 12" Guillotine Paper Cutter mainly for cardstock, craft paper, photos, and office projects, and it has been a great upgrade from the flimsy plastic paper trimmers I used before. The first thing I noticed is the heavy-duty metal base. It feels sturdy on the table and does not flex or wobble while cutting. That extra weight makes a big difference when trying to get clean, straight cuts. ISDIR also uses an integrated pressure bar and magnetic guide, which helps hold the paper firmly in place and keeps alignment much more accurate than freehand trimming. Cutting performance is very good. It slices through regular paper, cardstock, laminated sheets, and photos with clean edges. The advertised capacity is around 12 sheets, but I found it works best when staying a little under max capacity for the most precise cuts. The self-sharpening stainless blade stays sharp and requires very little effort. I also like the safety guard and blade lock. It feels much safer to store around the house or office compared to exposed-arm cutters. The rubber feet help keep it from sliding during use, which adds to the stability. One thing worth mentioning: with all budget guillotine cutters, keeping the guide aligned is important for perfectly square cuts. Paper-crafting communities often point out that metal-arm and pressure-bar designs perform much better than lightweight plastic cutters, but occasional alignment checks are normal in this price range. Pros: -Strong heavy-duty metal base feels stable -Integrated pressure bar keeps paper from shifting -Magnetic guide helps with accurate repeat cuts -Clean cuts on paper, cardstock, and photos -Safety guard and blade lock are nice features -Much better than cheap plastic trimmers Cons: -Best accuracy comes below full sheet capacity -May need occasional guide alignment check -Not industrial grade, but excellent for home/office use Overall: For crafts, DIY projects, school work, or office trimming, this is a very capable paper cutter for the money. It feels durable, cuts accurately, and offers far more stability than basic lightweight trimmers.

I love this Guillotine. This is definitely my go to item in crafting. It’s lightweight, compact, and super to use. It cuts without issue and the magnetic strip that it comes with is super helpful especially when you need that added protection to secure your paper/document/project to the base to be cut. I also appreciate that a blade is not visible or present reducing the risk of accidents. There’s one thing to note that may or may not be an issue and could be standard with Guillotines, but when cutting for some reason it cuts at a curve. In the beginning it can be super frustrating if you don’t take into account the angle at which it curves. Once that obstacle is overcome, the Guillotine works like a charm. Overall great buy. Personally, I wouldn’t purchase this item again as I would try to seek out a product that has a guiding reference for the cut and more precision to the cut. This however, was great as a beginner as it is a cost effective item for the price. No complaints at all
