My boss has a set of Knipex, I couldnt justify the price of the Knipex and so I got these as a plumber. Ive used the Knipex pliers plenty, they are great pliers and according to my boss have lasted 20 years, and the jaws still look decent, a little worn but impressively less than what you would expect for 20 years. Ive had this set for a couple months now, jaws still look great, only small signs of wear despite being heavily used everyday for the past 2 months. I like that with these you don't have to press in the button to make the jaws smaller (unlike with the Knipex) and can just slide the jaws together. My boss also occasionally grabs for these over his because these have a slightly wider mouth, either a good thing and feels like they grab more, or a not so good thing as they dont fit into quite as tight spaces (just good to be aware of). They have very little side play, again pretty similar to the Knipex. I cant really comment on the longevity of these (but will anyways). They likely wont last 20 years, and Im fine with that seeing as these were 1/3 of the cost of 1 singular Knipex plier/wrench, and they feel like they will last a good amount of time. Overall these feel great, and work great. The design of the jaws makes it so that once they grab whatever you are wanting to grab (usually a nut, bolt, pipe, etc. etc.) you just need to keep applying force to the top handle and you wont lose purchase. Id recommend them, a great step up from standard "channel lock" design for most applications.

Locking mechanism is nice. If you need to close the jaws you can just push one handle without touching the button. Only downside is that after years of use, the sweat from your hands may deteriorate the rubber, and the grip is mostly rubber with a small metal tang.

I’ve bought 3 sets of these now, because once a year or so I lose the 8” pliers. They are extremely handy, durable and my favorite pliers. Unfortunately I work on cars and trucks for a living so I never really own my tools, I just borrow them until I forget them in someone’s car or truck.

Simply plier perfection!! No joke the big grips spread the load on your mitts, and the easy and much more precise adjustability that is also faster thsn a normal one.. these are all the "little things" though as the miracle in these lies with the v groove and the staggered jaws. Provides unparalled gripping that is only otherwised seen with a pipe wrench. These are much more handy, and much more versitile! I always appreciate when engineers get it right! Though there is another German brand that has almost a identical model called Knipex i think... they cost more and i am pretty confident are the original. They must not have a patent or it expired. Either way these are half the price and have beefier grips! My only concern is the adjustment slots.... they work excellent but are a tad large.. leaving little frame left for strength. The original brand has a bit smaller slot leaving it less likely to fail there.

Large pair worked great, adjusted smoothly and felt great. Small pair had issues with the button seating to release or lock the slide, making them unusable. Got my refund and would like to try again because i've had luck with Irwin in the past
