I got these brackets to raise an old deerstand i remodeled. I like that they have a shelf under bracket for the stand to sit on top of. To me it feels a lot more stable that way. They arrived wrapped up well, one corner was bent but I was able to fix it with a pair of pliers. Mounting them was easy with the included lag bolts and washers. The 4x4 posts fit snug and after bracing the four foot legs the stand is extremely stable. Overall I will use these in the future whenever I can.

Being an engineer myself, I can appreciate the quality build and materials. I also chose this brand and model because of the veteran owned, made in the USA legacy. Unfortunately, the placement of the bottom most lag screws would make it dangerously weak since it would likely split the 2x6 pressure treated lumber. Knowing this, I took it upon myself to weld additional materials to further enhance and strengthen these brackets. I hope the manufactures take notice and implement those enhancements.
