This is exactly what I wanted--the 10 gauge extension that can handle certain heavy appliances and something that I could plug into and use in the garage or outside. I had read reviews on Amazon and other sources that praised this brand. I've been using this for several months and have had no problems. It doesn't get heated. Yes, this might be a bit pricier, but the quality makes this a good purchase. Also, getting a 10 gauge is safer and I feel this manufacturer makes a safe product. I have no complaints about this extension cord. The neon green makes and light make it easy to see.

I bought 25' and 50' Iron Forge 10 AWG extension cables. The cable are thick and sturdy. Nothing about these cables seems cheap to me. The connections at the outlet and appliance are nice and tight. I'm pulling about 8 amps through the 50' cable. I've been checking the connections and the entire cable length with an infrared digital thermometer, to make sure it's not getting hot. The temperature of the cable and connections are the same as their surroundings. It makes me feel a lot safer than I would with a lower gauge cable. It was totally worth the cost.

Bought this to reach an outdoor outlet to EV charge my Tesla and it works great. I connect the extension cord to my Tesla mobile connector and plug it into the car. It consistently draws 12A and the cord does not overheat or anything. If you're going to be using an extension cord for EV charging, it's recommended that you get at least a 12-gauge cord. This is even better at 10-gauge just for that added peace of mind that nothing will ever fritz out on the outlet you rely on to charge your car. Keep in mind that if you're using it outdoors and your outlets aren't weatherproofed with cover guards, your car might not charge when there's too much moisture outside or when it's raining/overcast. This is not the cord's fault, it's just that there's a built-in failsafe on the Tesla which won't draw power if it detects that there's too much moisture in the air around it. The mobile connector lights will flash red on the "T" part of the logo, which means it's not safe to draw power at the moment.

Ive owned this product for nearly 3 years and in that time found to have performed quite well! However either with time or use as an extension for our ev charging, failure at the female end cord has caused overheating at the plug and what appears to be burning or dark marks within the clear material. I dont know the typical lifespan of of extension cords, but with the regular load through the cord, feels appropriate. For limited use and at lower demand applaiances would still recommend.

May be oversized for its application but I took comfort that it was not going to create any hazards. Using for my BMW i40.
