My child loves to eat plain white rice and needed a way to take it to school with her. I bought this since it matches her water bottle. She said her rice is always the perfect temperature. She packs it hot at 6:30 AM and has lunch around 11 AM. That's at least 4.5 hours of heat retention. The only thing that annoys me is that the teeth for the lid are so deep (to keep it leak proof I'm sure) that if one tiny piece of rice gets up in there and she doesn't notice it, it gets smooshed up in the deep groove and then I have to use something to dig it out. It's not dishwasher safe so I can't just toss it in the dishwasher to let it do the cleaning for me. Overall, still a good purchase for the price and it does what it is supposed to do. ... show more

I absolutely recommend this product. My daughter especially loves the fold up spoon that was included, but the insulation in this thing is crazy. I prepare lunch for her at around 7AM and she eats lunch around 12PM, but she says the food stays warm even until she's at her after school program at 4PM. What seems to help is getting the container really warm to start with. I heat up water in the microwave and pour it in the container, let it sit while I'm heating up the food then pour out the water and add the food. ... show more

The jar is pretty and seems durable. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no directions. Other containers detail that you should put hot water in it for a duration of time before putting the hot food in. Since there were no directions I assumed I could skip that step and my daughter ended up with cold food. When I did it my daughter said her food was warm. I will say I doubt the heat will last longer than 4-5 hrs. ... show more

The color design is cool, and that’s about it. The spoon is weird and there’s no place to attach it, so there’s potential to lose it. I bought two of these to be able to send hot lunch options for my kid to school, but each time we’ve used them for hot meals she says her food is cold by lunch time (we pre-heat with boiling hot water, let sit for 10-15 min, empty and fill with hot food) 4 hours later.
