I'm a garbage man in Minnesota and these boots are amazing. Bought them for winter and they've been holding up great. Very very warm, durable and waterproof. They're also comfortable and supportive. Great protection against ankle rolling. Fairly slip resistant but I still usually wear cleats on ice and packed snow. Just so I can move faster. It would be just fine in wet conditions though. Would highly recommend, if you're looking for a good quality work boot.

I got these for my husband, whom wears his “top pick” pair of boots to work daily, and he prefers these Irish Setter boots over the Georgia boots I recently got him, bc he claims the Georgia boots are squeaky… the only reason that these boots get 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is because the oil applied by the manufacture had not been settled before the boots were put in the box, and they therefore came pretty scuffed up (from shipping I suppose). This seemed to bother me more than my husband, as he said they’d get scuffed up at work anyways. Other versions of Irish Setter (and/or Red Wing) boots typically last my husband 8-12 months, so I expect the durability of these to be of a similar fashion, however, this probably varies by the line of work someone is in… my husband is in industrial heating and air industry.

These Irish Setter boots are the best pair of work boots I've ever worn. Do yourself a favor and buy quality boots, you only get one set of feet and need to protect them. Plus, good boots make long days of work less punishing on your back, and as such, the rest of your body. $229.95 (as of writing) may seem like a lot for boots... it's not, not for the quality of these, the proper fit, and the protection they provide. I've also worn these hiking a few times, cause I'm strange like that, and they work perfectly on the trail as well. This will likely end up how these will be used going forward instead of them sitting for the occasional times I need work boots for hours on end. Though, maybe I'll get another pair? Hmmmm. I also used these to shovel horrible, heavy, wet snow, where the base was 3 inches of slush. You know, the back-breaking, feet-soaking nastiness of a spring snowfall. Definitely tested out the waterproofing, feet were nice and dry after 3 hours. Yes, it was horrible, and no, no snowblower! Positives: -Impeccable build quality, from the sole being properly placed, every stitch being clean, the eyelets all being perfectly aligned, no random messy glueing; you're getting one hell of a pair of boots. -I have the 10.5 size, and they fit perfectly and as expected for a 10.5. -Passes ASTM F2413-18, M/I/C, EH, and ASTM F3445-21, SR safety standards. -No issues with feeling the steel toe from inside the boot. -Waterproof from the factory, though, make sure to reapply frequently if you want them to stay that way! -The sole proves great traction on rough surfaces and wet alike. -Keeps feet warm and dry in the cold, snowy mountain weather where I live. -The eyelets make sure the boot stays laced up properly and the included laces should hold up for a good amount of time under heavy usage. Considerations: -When I opened my pair up, you could tell they were waterproofed due to scuffing from the shipping, it doesn't impact the boots in the least, but was worth mentioning. Negatives: -They'll eventually need replaced? Overall: -Definitely, 100%, worth the asking price. Very highly recommended! Note: -Amazon refused to let me review the 10.5-inch size, so this is under the 9-inch size. Fit perfectly. Great quality materials and construction. Warm, comfortable, and waterproof. This 9" Steel toe logger work boot from Irish setter, continues the tradition of a rugged work boot made with durable materials. That's a real winner, and this is the perfect gift idea for the most important people in your life. It's a great value as these are made to last for a good many years. The outsole is non slip rubber from Vibram and you can pretty much take these things hiking if you really wanted to. The material inside will definitely keep your feet dry too which is always my biggest concern with these. Many times, your feet will get sweaty and then out in the cold, it will cause them to be uncomfortable. There's plenty of room for heavier socks if you like, but they're decently warm with hiking socks as well. The sole has a good wet and dry grip, and they're waterproof as advertised. I rode a motorcycle 3 hours in steady rain and me feet stayed warm and dry. The construction is great, and the materials are heavy-duty as expected for work boots. They also come with a decent insole, so you don't have to immediately get Dr Scholls if you don't want to. The break-in period is normal, but they were comfortable enough for all-day use right out of the box. These boots keep your feet from getting all sweated up no matter how thick your socks are. It allows them to breath comfortably while staying nice and warm. This is the non-insulated waterproof version, and provides good comfort with solid support and protection. These are the type of boots that will make it so you don't notice. Really! I used these to do a day of cutting wood for the upcoming winter season. This means cutting fallen trees up, carrying that to the truck and then coming home to split them all up for putting in the fireplace or wood stove. On uneven ground you want a boot that will keep you ankle supported so even if you step onto uneven ground, you won't get a sprain...which is very easy to do when doing wood. Nice lace system ensures a secure and snug fit every time. The chocolate leather construction looks as good as it performs. A solid value.

Irish Setter Shorewood 9-inch logger boots are genuinely a high-quality work boot. These boots have been worn on demanding, wet, and icy construction sites and have provided excellent protection. The 9-inch height provides ankle stability on uneven ground. Fits true to size! The Steel Toe offers maximum protection and support. The 400g Thinsulate insulation keeps my feet comfortable in temperatures ranging from 25°F to 45°F. Most importantly, the waterproofing has been absolutely flawless in slush and standing water, and the rubber lug sole offers phenomenal, non-slip traction, especially on ladders and slick surfaces. These boots are best suited for demanding roles like logging, heavy equipment, and utility work where protection is required. If you need maximum durability in cold, wet conditions and can handle the heft, these are very reliable. My main critique is the significant weight. The heavy-duty construction and steel toe make these boots noticeable after a 10-hour work shift. I’d love to see a lighter composite-toe option offered. Lacing these boots is also very time consuming. Also, a stiff break-in period is necessary. I needed to ease into them before a full workday. Overall, excellent quality!
