Fit perfectly. Great quality materials and construction. Warm, comfortable, and waterproof. This 9" Steel toe logger work boot from Irish setter, continues the tradition of a rugged work boot made with durable materials. That's a real winner, and this is the perfect gift idea for the most important people in your life. It's a great value as these are made to last for a good many years. The outsole is non slip rubber from Vibram and you can pretty much take these things hiking if you really wanted to. The material inside will definitely keep your feet dry too which is always my biggest concern with these. Many times, your feet will get sweaty and then out in the cold, it will cause them to be uncomfortable. There's plenty of room for heavier socks if you like, but they're decently warm with hiking socks as well. The sole has a good wet and dry grip, and they're waterproof as advertised. I rode a motorcycle 3 hours in steady rain and me feet stayed warm and dry. The construction is great, and the materials are heavy-duty as expected for work boots. They also come with a decent insole, so you don't have to immediately get Dr Scholls if you don't want to. The break-in period is normal, but they were comfortable enough for all-day use right out of the box. These boots keep your feet from getting all sweated up no matter how thick your socks are. It allows them to breath comfortably while staying nice and warm. This is the non-insulated waterproof version, and provides good comfort with solid support and protection. These are the type of boots that will make it so you don't notice. Really! I used these to do a day of cutting wood for the upcoming winter season. This means cutting fallen trees up, carrying that to the truck and then coming home to split them all up for putting in the fireplace or wood stove. On uneven ground you want a boot that will keep you ankle supported so even if you step onto uneven ground, you won't get a sprain...which is very easy to do when doing wood. Nice lace system ensures a secure and snug fit every time. The chocolate leather construction looks as good as it performs. A solid value.

I have been wearing these Irish Setter boots for a few weeks and they are outstanding. The leather feels very durable and the soles provide solid support without being overly heavy or stiff. They are completely waterproof, and I have worn them through muddy and wet conditions without any problems. The tread is deep and grippy and handles slick surfaces well. The boots offer great ankle support because of their height. They take a little time to break in at the top, but once they do, they are very comfortable. The laces are easy to adjust and allow a precise fit. The toe box has plenty of room and does not pinch or rub. I have the soft toe version, but I also tried the steel toe and it adds just a bit of weight while giving extra protection for heavy duty work. If you need steel toes, this version is definitely worth it. These boots are very well made, comfortable, and strong enough for tough outdoor work. I have worn many brands over the years and these are among the best I have ever owned.

I've tried many other work boot brands over the the years, but I have to say, these were the most impressive right out of the box. The box is quite nice too! You can feel the heft and quality just when you take them out of the box. They look solid, they feel solid and very comfortable. Now the one con is that when you first put them on, you may have to loosen up all those laces to get your feet in, especially if you have wider feet. Once your feet slide in though, the fit is perfect. The stitching is really nice so no worry about things falling apart when they get wet, dry wet and then dry over and over again. They will also keep your feet warm no matter how cold the ground is. Usually with steel toed boots, that will be what makes your feet get so cold, but the insulating material inside keeps that from happening. They will give your legs a nice workout as they weigh a few pounds, but getting a stronger calf muscle isn't such a bad thing. The value for money on these are really great too. Many workboots are under a hundred dollars but will only last a year. Not the case here. These are built to last a long long time so expect at least a good five years at least

I got these for my husband, whom wears his “top pick” pair of boots to work daily, and he prefers these Irish Setter boots over the Georgia boots I recently got him, bc he claims the Georgia boots are squeaky… the only reason that these boots get 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is because the oil applied by the manufacture had not been settled before the boots were put in the box, and they therefore came pretty scuffed up (from shipping I suppose). This seemed to bother me more than my husband, as he said they’d get scuffed up at work anyways. Other versions of Irish Setter (and/or Red Wing) boots typically last my husband 8-12 months, so I expect the durability of these to be of a similar fashion, however, this probably varies by the line of work someone is in… my husband is in industrial heating and air industry.
