They came beautifully wrapped and double bagged. The sticker on top was a nice touch. These are very lightweight and fit loose. They feel like wearing Ashby’s untied. They feel like the Ashbys more than the wingshooters. These would be a good summer boot or for light work. I think the Wingshooters are much more solid and durable. The wingshooters are also twice the price. I am really torn whether to keep these or wait til my current WS run out of sole. I’m pretty hard on my boots and IDK how long these would make it. They are pictured next to my wingshooters that are about a year old. On their own they are great. When comparing to the other styles Irish setters have I would say they are the lightest and loosest I have tried. If you are on a budget I would go for these before any other brand at this price point.

Knowing these boots are made by Red Wing, I had high expectations for the craftsmanship, and they did not disappoint in terms of material quality. The full-grain leather feels premium, the construction is solid, and right out of the box, they are incredibly comfortable. The underfoot support is excellent for long shifts on your feet. Because these are equipped with a steel safety toe, you naturally expect a boot designed to handle a rugged, demanding outdoor work environment. However, the tension lacing system is where they miss the mark for heavy-duty use. As a construction worker, ankle stability and a locked-in, secure fit are non-negotiable when navigating uneven terrain, debris, and scaffolding. The faux-lace/tension system on these boots simply doesn't provide that tight, customized security that standard, heavy-duty laces offer. I found myself lacking the peace of mind I need regarding foot security while on a rigorous job site. If you work a lighter-duty job—like a shop floor, warehouse, or a manufacturing environment where steel toes are strictly required but the terrain is flat and predictable—these boots are absolutely perfect and will keep your feet comfortable all day. But if you are in heavy construction and need absolute, rugged ankle and foot security, I would look for a traditional lace-up alternative.

These are really good quality boots, you can tell as soon as you pull them out of the box. The leather is thick and durable, which also means they may take some time to break in. The leather also looks great, does not feel or look cheap in any way. For me they are comfortable but they do fit a bit loose, probably because they are slip ons, but maybe I got the wrong size. I was honestly not expecting them to be slip ons, I didn't read enough of the description and the title does not tell you that. I actually like that they are slip ons though, super easy to get on and off. My other work boots are Justin boots, different style, and these are just as good if not better quality. I am actually looking forward to these getting worn in, the leather is going to look so good. So they might fit a bit loose, which may just mean you want to get the right size. Like for me, I probably should have went with a 10 1/2 wide instead of an 11, but oh well. Short of getting the size right, these are super nice boots.

Occasionally I'll go from admin/in-office work and head out to the field to help out when there's lots of projects going on (residential fence installation and decking for reference). Obviously for safety reasons I need a good work boot, and this hit all the spots. Fit was excellent (I normally wear a 10-10.5) and there was plenty of space in the toebox. I absolutely hate terrible toe-boxes that make you feel like you're wearing weightlifting shoes. After about 3 days of outdoor use in construction I felt they were sufficiently broken in. Not to say they weren't comfortable wearing them, they definitely were. Excellent laces out of the box. Definitely took them off before leaving the jobsite in the car, these boots aren't meant for breathability - they're meant for safety. And they look great!

Overall, they are good-quality boots, as one would expect from a known brand. I have used Irish Setter brand many times in the past, and the quality is always good. I would recommend trying them on to make sure the fit is good, as they aren't the usual lace-up boot and are more of a slip-on. I think they are average weight for a steel-toe boot, as expected. I like the convenience of the slip-on style boots and not having to mess with laces. They are not the most comfortable boot I have used, but they don't leave my feet sore or hurting. They do take a bit of time to get broken in. I haven't noticed any temperature issues with my feet being cold or overheating when wearing them. Overall, I like them.

These were purchased as a gift off my sons wish list and he ordered the size he usually wears. While they felt ok when he first put them on as he was walking they began to slip on his feet. They seem to run larger because they aren't tied and he is unsure how to downsize or rather to purchase something else. Disappointing if buying as a gift.

Wearing these on the job site, they give off that “I’m ready for work” feeling the second I put them on with their no lace up hassle. There is a noticeable weight to them, not in a bad way, but in that reassuring, durable solid kind of way with that perfect fit where I feel protected walking over rocks, debris, or uneven ground. I don’t second guess my footing. The break-in period is real, though. At first, they felt a bit stiff, especially around the toe box and leather upper, but after a few days on site, they started to mold to my feet and feel way more natural. Once broken in, they hit a nice balance where they’re firm and supportive without feeling harsh. What really stands out most to me is how versatile , stable and grounded they feel. The traction does its job, you’re not slipping around, even on dirt or loose gravel, which is huge for outdoor construction. And with the steel toe, there’s that constant peace of mind where I'm not worried about dropping tools or materials on my feet. By the end of a long day, I still feel it, they’re not ultra-cushioned boots, but it’s more of a worked-all-day fatigue rather than discomfort from the boots themselves. They feel like they’re built to handle real labor, not just casual wear. My overall feelings about the reasonable priced boots for the quality you receive is that they make me feel extremely protected, planted, and job ready, like a dependable piece of gear you don’t have to think twice about once you’re out there working.

My husband really likes these steel toe shoes for work. There are several nice features that set them apart. The boots are very well made. The toes are double stitched. The ankles have inner and outer elastic panels that provide all day comfort. There’s nothing worse than boots that rub on your ankles. The boot soles are slip/oil resistant for increased safety in manufacturing facilities. The uppers are comfortable leather, and the toe box is nice and roomy. Despite having steel toes, the boots are relatively lightweight. And they look so much better than other steel toe boots on the market!
