These boxes are sturdy and sufficiently water tight. I took off one star only because one of the boxes in the pack of 6 I ordered arrived damaged. This was remedied by refunding the cost of one box. The rectangular profile results in greater storage capacity than boxes which have sloped sides.

Really wasn't sure how many stars to leave here, 5 or 1, depending. I've bought a lot of these boxes. Provided you're holding a completely uncracked full up example, they're my favorite storage box, heavy duty, good latches, stack well. However I'm very frustrated right now, as the incidence of them being broken upon arrival is insane: a couple patently shattered examples, but every single lid and box REQUIRES careful inspection for cracks, especially around fasteners, structural ribs, and the nubs on the side of the black fasteners. I strongly reccomend to the manufacturer to add some form of padding to their shipping box, add thickness to these areas, or likely both. Many of the photos I've uploaded are relatively minor, but when I'm paying more for the name brand made in America heavy duty long term storage sealed option, "just a little bit" broken/chipped/cracked upon arrival is nowhere close to acceptable. I hate to say it, but if you need 8 good boxes, I would order at least 12; in my experience you'll have no problem making up a 4x4 set of breaks from this order to return. ... show more

My initial order arrived in perfect condition, even though the storage boxes are shipped stacked together in a cardboard box with no cushioning whatsoever. The storage boxes are working to keep the ants away from my food so I ordered more since I had more items to store in my pantry. The second order arrived broken, which could have been avoided if the boxes had any type of cushioning when packaged. It is too bad because the storage boxes themselves are nice and a good size for pantry shelves, but I don't have the time or energy to reorder/return multiple packages just so I can get a pack of 3 to finish the job.
