I bought this chair in 2021 and haven’t left a review until now because I wanted to see how it would hold up. I use it everyday and it’s works just as well as the day I bought it. It’s big, so the box was big, but it fit easily through our front door and only took minutes for my husband to put it together. Oh how I love this massage chair! If I put in order the things I love, this chair is number one above my husband, children, and even my dog! I was in such pain for so long with knots all in between my shoulder blades and between my neck and shoulders. I tried heat, ibuprofen, Percocet, Loratab, and muscle relaxers and nothing touched the pain. I even went to massage therapy 4 days a week for a month and she dug deeply into those knots, but it did nothing to improve them. I had sat in massage chairs at the nail salon when having pedicures and they felt amazing. I dreamed of owning my own but couldn’t see spending $1800 for a chair. I felt it would be too selfish to spend that kind of money on a purchase for myself. But then I started looking at chairs on Amazon and saw that I could buy one and make payments on it using my Amazon card and pay for it over 18 months with no interest. That was it; I bought me a chair. The severity of my pain was so bad that I would’ve sold my soul for relief, but buying this chair was a better option and I haven’t regretted it once. The chair had everything I needed without a bunch of fancy options that I didn’t and the price was right compared to 4-$5000. Honestly, I don’t see how any of those high dollar chairs could do any better than this one. It has real shiatsu which I use on the setting that allows you to manually put in what type of massage you want and targeted at the areas you want. You can adjust the speed, with, intensity, location, and type of massage you want in this mode and it’s this setting that I use on those knots. It’s amazing and is the ONLY thing that gets into those knots and causes the pain to disappear. I could just cry writing about the relief and improvement in the quality of my life it had given me. I used to beg my daughter and my husband to dig their elbows into those knots and to make it hard and hurt as much as possible because that was the only way I got a little bit of relief, but they hated doing it and the relief was only temporary because they couldn’t do it very long. With my chair, I can sit in it as long as I want and get the relief I need. My husband and adult sons say it’s too strong and it hurts too much to use, but I think it’s perfect. I need that intensity and will even press further into the chair for an even deeper massage. The pain feels good and is the only way to really get at those knots properly. If my husband uses the chair, I have to put a towel between him and the chair to lessen the intensity. There’s also a flap that is like a pillow for your head and neck that prevents the neck massage from being too intense, but I flip it up and over the chair and it allows the shiatsu massage to feel like actual hands on my neck and it’s wonderful! The chair has several presets like comfort, relax, stretch, neck and shoulders, back and waist, and several others that are really good. They are set to perform for 20 minutes and use all the different methods of massage; shiatsu, knocking, kneading, etc and work your neck, back, and rear end or targeted areas alone. You can also turn it back on after the 20 minutes and restart it again or press the time button and extend the time while it’s going up to 30 minutes. It massages your arms, legs, and feet, but I don’t use these and they can be turned off. It also has a heat button that you can turn on or off that heats your lower back. I love it because it gets nice and hot without getting so hot you squirm. The chair also has the ability to go backwards and put you into zero gravity which actually increases the intensity of the massage and is such a relaxing position. Now word of warning; the chair goes down around your rear end and down to the upper part of you thighs. When it’s on a preset, like comfort or relax, it will massage down in this area and it will get a little personal in private areas briefly. It doesn’t hurt or anything but it was a shock to my adult son and husband when it rolled on by their testicles. Lol! They both hollered, “Hey what’s going on!?! What’s it doing? Why’s it down there!?!” It was hilarious! It’s just making sure to massage your entire bottom and unfortunately scrolling briefly over this area is a part of it. My dog chewed the cord on it about a year ago, but I was able to go online and search for a replacement cord with no problem. It was a universal cord that worked for the chair and was only $11. It also has Bluetooth speakers in the head area where it can connect to your phone and play music through the chair’s speakers. It also has neat light blue lights on the side that light up when it’s on and it beeps when turned on and beeps when it shuts off. I think I covered everything, but there’s so many good things about the chair that I may have missed something. I could go on and on about how amazing and life changing this chair has been for me. It also pops my back when I use it on comfort and stretch and that’s another plus. There’s no limit on how long you can use it at one time. I use it as long as I need to in order to get the relief I need. If the knots pop up and I’m in pain, I may sit in it for an hour and a half just working those knots and when I feel they’ve released I’m done. But on everyday use, I get in it, set a preset like comfort or relax, let it run the 20 minute corse and I’m done. It has also really helped my lower back and rear end pain. It’s like having my own chiropractor or masseuse at my beck and call. If you suffer with pain don’t hesitate anymore and buy this chair. Do it for you. You won’t ever regret it. The media could not be loaded. If you are anything like me then you have probably searched every SL track massage chair in this price range and you are trying to figure out which is the best bang for your buck. Full disclosure, I initially purchased the real relax brand, but I experienced some issues with the functionality and opted to return it and try this brand. In this price range, most of the SL track chairs have similar features. What stood out to me about this brand were the external airbags on the foot massager and the additional waist airbags. The other brand’s airbags are trapped behind a thin layer of material, which in my opinion limited the intensity of the air pressure in the foot massager. Other brands with the exception of one other had airbags only for the shoulders arms and feet. One other brand in this price range had hip airbags but did not offer a variety of colors. The order process was a bit convoluted for me because the company originally offered a delivery date that was 2 weeks out from my order date. A few days after, I noticed on the product page, that if I ordered at that time I would receive it a whole week earlier. Long and short of this story, Amazon was not able to help me change the order and I ended up canceling and re-ordering so that I could receive it earlier. I know…first world problems, but it was a bit annoying. The delivery was smooth. The truck came right when they said they would and dropped it off in my garage, which is where I asked them to place it. Reasons I choose IRest • Good Looking chair, I chose the white and blue. Matched my décor beautifully. • Waist airbags were a huge selling point for me. • Foot massage air compression can get intense, which is what I was looking for. I am 5’3” and petite build, and my husband who is 6’ also finds it intense on the highest setting. • Airbag pressure for the other areas also ranges from just right to intense. • Pretty decent back massage from the rollers, you can adjust the speed and the width of the rollers. • 8 different massage settings. • A part of the tab for the footrest broke off in my hand as I was connecting it. Customer service was pretty responsive and assured me that it should not cause issues with functionality. However, if it does, I do have a record of our conversation in Amazon. • Size is quite compact, and fits in the corner of my bedroom perfectly. Things to consider • Anywhere from $100-500 more expensive than similar brands with similar features. • No clear instructions on how to use the remote, there will be a learning curve, but this was also my experience with the other brand. • Remote buttons are not backlit, and difficult to use in a dark room, but I also had this experience with the other brand, however, the IRest remote to me was a bit easier to learn. • There is only one-foot roller, the other brand had 2, 1 for the balls of your feet and another for the heel. • Pressure in the glute area could be a bit more intense. Compared to the other brand the IRest is a bit less intense, which works well if that is what you are looking for. • Chair does not automatically return to the upright position after massage. You will have to use the quick access buttons on the armrest or the remote to position the chair back to the upright position. • Quick access buttons on the armrest used to power down the chair or recline, are not as practical as the other brand, where the quick access buttons do not require you to remove your arms from the arm massager to turn off or adjust the position of the chair. • There is a blue light on the armrest which never dims as long as the chair is powered on from the main power switch at the back of the chair. This is a bit annoying if you are thinking of placing the chair in the bedroom like I did. I try to drape a blanket over the light before bed to block the light. • I find that I have to place a thin blanket at the base of my back for all massages because the rollers tend to get intense in that area, but this could be because of the shape of my body. The other brand wasn’t much better in terms of intensity, often times I would have to use a pillow to provide protection for my entire back. All in all the IRest to me gives a more pleasing massage. I have owned this chair for about 3 weeks, and so far so good. It's tough to say whether you will choose the right chair with so many similar types on the market. If price is important to you, then you will be able to find similar chairs for up to $500 cheaper than this one. However, if appearance, size, features, and massage quality are important to you, then it might be worth it to spend a little more. I ultimately chose this brand because of the waist airbags and I don’t regret it. ***Update 9/1/2023*** So far so good...I don't regret my purchase! I use the chair at least 3 times per week, and overall, my blood circulation and joint flexibility are so much better. You can just feel it. There are nights when I experience insomnia and 20 minutes in the chair gets me to a stage of relaxation conducive to sleep. I have gotten used to the intensity, so much so that I wish there were a higher setting, but that is just a testament to how therapeutic the chair is. The most annoying things for me? The inability to dim the blue light in a dark room, and not being able to silence the beeping of the remote...but those are minor annoyances compared to all of the benefits. ... show more

I’m not gonna talk about the product itself or shipping which were adequate and others have put a lot of effort into those two topics. The instructions to assemble the chair are not readable. It seems like they are translated from Chinese, using Google translate and not adequate. If you look at my pictures, I have attempted to take pictures of the areas where you’ll need to locate to attach the foot rest. It’s really just two screws that you need to unscrew and not lose the foot rest has a bar that is clamped, then you use the two tiny screws to secure the clamps, and that seems to do the trick to attach the foot rest. There are two foam covers for the bar we left ours on. I don’t know if that’s absolutely necessary, but I noticed that when I was squishing them in to attach the foot rest of the chair, one of the foam covers tore a little bit. I don’t think it’s a problem, in the back at the base is where you’ll attach the power cord and there’s a little cut out switch back there. Ours was powered on at the switch. When you power on the chair, it goes from laid-back mode into setting up mode and then at that point you can get in the chair and take it for a test drive we had it assembled for about 20 minutes and my wife hasn’t gotten out of it yet. It’ll probably take a few weeks to understand the different modes and the controllers but it’s got a nice little LCD screen that shows what’s happening and where it’s massaging the body seems like it’s worth the $1600 that we’re paying for it ... show more
