We got this chair for my husband who has back pain. He is able to adjust the chair to a position to help alleviate some of that pain. Shipping was very fast. It was easy to put together. It seems well constructed and solid. The cushions are soft but firm enough that you don't sink into them. I sat in it a few times... enough that it put my old worn out recliner to shame... so we bought another one of these today - for me. I'm 5'3 and this size chair fits me perfectly. My feet touch the floor, which is rare with the new gigantic furniture nowadays. The lift mechanism is quiet and the remote is easy to use. The massage is nice with several different settings. The lay flat design is super nice and invites you to take that nap you need... * We ordered the brown chenille fabric - One note about the brown chenille color... The photos for this color make it look like a medium/chocolate brown. What we received is very dark - more like dark cocoa. I realize that different device screens can make things look different... Not a deal breaker by any means, but I would have liked the lighter brown. I highly recommend this chair. ... show more

    • Nice recliner for the money

It was shipped quickly but did arrive in 2 boxes each one day apart. No big deal I expected this after reading other reviews and confirmed this after calling the number provided on Amazon for the Irene Store. They service sends really decent from them. They gave me the tracking number for the second package and the delivery date - next day. Everything worked and was easy to put together. The main box is a bit heavy but needs to be for a lift chair. The heater and massage both work really well. One setting for heat and multiple ones the the massager. The cushions are firm but comfortable and it lays flat for sleeping which I will need for rotator cuff surgery coming up. There is a gap where your lower back lays so the included pillow will be needed for that or possibly another pillow depending on your back. I was looking at a nice recliner locally for 900 to 1800 and this one is close to quality of the more expensive one for a lot less. The service for the company so far had been very good. The one remote did have a broken section to it and they are shipping me a new one now, the day after it arrived and have provided me a tracking number for that. The are also wheels that go into the back of the chair that make it easy to move it around without having to lift it or drag it, just need to pick up on the front a little. I'm very happy with both the recliner and the service from Irene House so far. ... show more

Chair came in two boxes. The box with the base is heavy so good idea to have someone to help move it in. Assembly was fairly easy, although there seems to be lots of wires and not the best cable management, but nip better than most I have seen. I was looking for a lay flat recliner, that had separate control for foot and back. I was not interested in a lift recliner. Unfortunately I could not find what I wanted without the lift option. The lift control is part of the foot control so if you lower the foot rest and press just a little too long it starts to raise the chair to stand. You notice you went a tad too far because the chair seems a bit wobbly because it is slightly raised off the base. That said the chair is soo comfortable, a treat to sleep on and looks wonderful! ... show more

I wanted a smaller recliner, and this is the perfect size for a 5'3" lady. The color is beautiful (a light cool beige). The upholstery fabric is soft, quite sturdy, and cleans easily (this has not been tested on any real dirt but just a small spill). Mechanics work fine, no problems. Only small complaint is that the seat could be a little more padded, a little more comfortable for long term TV and reading. I see some complaints about the space made when reclined way back (maybe for people who want to sleep in it??). This is not an issue for me. For the money, great chair. I hope it continues to serve me well for year's...time will tell. ... show more

    • I am a 25 yearer with amazon.com and......
03.09.2024 I have been ordering thousands of items from amazon for 25 years and have spent thousands of dollars (I know, I wished I have saved most of it). I have given many reviews, good and awful over the years. Some amazing products and some not worth the box they came in. This Irene House 9188ET Big Tall Man Lay Flat Recliner is at the Top of the "best of the best" that I have ever ordered. From the shipping, packaging, assembling, customer service. It took about 5 days to get this. I am 6ft and 225 Lb man, 63 years old army veteran and live alone. When I first got these 3 boxes delivered by FedEx, the guy brought the heaviest up the steps for me and he did not have too. The doorway is 32.5" wide. I noticed the model number on the box was different than what I ordered. I called Irene House, and, in a few seconds, I talked to a nice lady who said, "I understand" and we have told the manufacture about this. She assured me that what was inside the box is what I ordered, and she was right. When I was putting it together, I noticed I did not have the transformer. I called her back, and in a few seconds, she answered, and she said, "I am sending you one now". In a moment later I found the transformer under the sofa, I did not know I kicked it under there. I called her back, and, in a moment, she answered, and I told her I found it and she said "great". I could not figure out how to attach the footrest extension, so I called her back and she text me videos of how to attach it. It was like she was in the same room as me. I have the most perfect chair now. I wanted something that will grow old with me. I do not need the lift right now, but in years or so, I might. The chenille beige is so soft and beautiful. The heat and massage are a bonus for me. It fits me perfect. My feet do not hang over at all, plenty of room. It is like I am in bed when I lay it flat. Now if I ever need to move into an assisted living, I have my perfect chair, perfect bed, and perfect Irene House service. I LOVE IT!!! ... show more
