  • BIKINI AREA FINALLY
I had professional laser hair removal for my legs, pits, top of toes MANY years ago. It has ALL stayed off (I'm lighter skinned and older, so there is that.) However, it just "wasn't me" to offer up my bikini/pubic area to a professional with this. (I've seen the videos, not a comfortable thing to do with anyone!) So I jumped at the chance to try this! Shaved as well as I could and started my treatments! I'm "hair" to tell you, it is FABULOUS!!!! It does take repeating treatments at regular intervals to make this permanent, but I have no doubt it will be. It is STILL uncomfortable position to be in, especially with doing this yourself though! ... show more

  • Too easy to inadvertently change modes; needs longer cord
The cord is too short. I have a small bathroom. I needed the cord to stretch across the sink counter to the toilet, so I could sit there to use it. Too short. This is a smaller distance than most people will have to stretch a cord in the bathroom unless you have a plug right next to the toilet. The adjustments can be a bit tricky — there are four buttons — two of them are physical, and you know when you press them. The other two are electronic — you just tap them (or brush them), so you can do that unknowingly. There are different settings if you are doing face, pubic hair, or body hair, and you might be doing one and inadvertently change the setting. Since I think things are gentler, especially for the face, you need to be really careful. That said, when you change modes, it automatically resets to the lowest power, so there is that built in protection. But it’s too easy to switch modes, so you may be trying to do a leg on high power and end up with a low setting for the face. For some reason, it seems the intensity increased one day. I had been using level 5 the other day. Looked down at my leg and found the last strip I’d just done (I had worked my way all the way around) and found a line of black spots (see photo). Luckily they seem to just be ash — I was concerned they were real burns. Since then, I can’t go above level 3 without getting the charring (but I’ve inadvertently ended up at higher power a couple of times). Not sure why it changed, but I think/hope it’s ok. I was able to rub off the ash, but when I see it, I figure it’s too strong. This comes with dark glasses (which you should absolutely use these — the instructions don’t emphasize that as much as it should). It also has a razor, but it doesn’t tell you you should use this on recently shaved areas, not on any longer hair (and you don’t want to shave or pluck before or after, either). So definitely a few details that should be there. If you are going to use this on extensive areas, you should probably split it into a couple of sessions, as the device does get a little hot over time and should probably cool off. But I’m impressed with how much it can do in one sitting. So far, things seem to be working appropriately. I need to have more time to know if the hair really stays away — you use this 2-3 times a week for several weeks. But from what I’ve seen, it seems to be working. Overall, I’d say they need a longer cord and a better way to control the settings — it’s too easily to accidentally change them. That said, this is more economical than others on the market and seems like it will do the trick. ... show more

  • MISECO IPL Hair Remover: Affordable Painless At-Home Hair Removal
Pros: High flash count (999,900): Offers potentially years of use. Painless: Claims gentle operation suitable for first-time users. Multiple settings: Targets various body areas like face, legs, and bikini line. Affordable: Compared to salon treatments, this device offers significant cost savings. Cons: Limited information: No mention of frame rate (which can affect results). Unsuitable for all skin tones: IPL technology may not be effective for darker skin tones. It's important to check the manufacturer's recommendations for compatibility. Durability unknown: Long-term durability and effectiveness require user experience over time. Overall: The MISECO IPL Hair Remover presents a great value for the price, especially for those with lighter skin tones who prioritize affordability. However, the lack of information about frame rate and potential limitations for darker skin tones are important considerations. It might be wise to research user experiences and consult a dermatologist before using this product. ... show more

  • Seems to be very effective but somewhat difficult to read the setting
Having spent a lifetime shaving my armpits, legs, and bikini line, a chance for a longer shaving free solution has long been my desire. This laser hair remover is slightly larger than I expected it to be but, let’s be fair, I was looking for results, not for the prettiest tool in the shaving box. Despite its larger size, it is still easy to hold and to maneuver where I need it to go. It is also easy to use. It’s uncomplicated to begin using. Plug it in, turn it on, select mode, click on a body part setting, choose auto or manual, and then hit the big “light flash” button to start lasering. The manufacturer suggests manual mode when removing hair from armpits and knees and then using the auto mode for legs and arms. When using the auto mode you simply hold the device in place until it stops flashing. The problem is that the instructions say you can shift the mode settings from “face,” “body,” “bikini” or “beauty skin,” but I couldn’t find any indication of which setting Is actually which. I had to guess at which symbol meant which setting – and to make things more difficult, the lightly inscribed symbols are very difficult to see, at least to my middle aged eyes. That’s my only real complaint but it is something that I would have like to have seen addressed in the design process. I have to emphasize that there are very specific designs etched into the power bar for each mode but they are just very difficult to read and figure out which design is for which mode. I have used this device on all four suggested areas and it does work very effectively once you figure out which mode to choose. Be sure to angle the device at a 90-degree angle when flashing to remove hair. Be careful when using the laser. You get a pair of fairly protective glasses and I suggest that you use them. You also receive a small bladed razor and a small instructions manual. Also, it is recommended that the following people do not use this unit: people with dermatitis, eczema, skin diseases, who are allergic to light or cosmetics or clothing or metal, women who are pregnant or in menstrual or lactation period, or those who have been exposed to sunlight in the past two weeks. I am not exactly certain what is specifically meant by being exposed to sunlight over the prior two weeks – does that mean having received a tan or a light burn? I think that point needs clarification. Other than those specified above, the dipilator is suitable for men and women but I’m not sharing mine with my husband! I would suggest discreet parental supervision if being used on a teenager. I wouldn’t recommend it for use on children without discussing with a physician first. Maintenance is easy when necessary. All you need to do is to dip a cotton swab into some alcohol and wipe and disinfect the flash outlet and glass. Since this works well and seems to be reliable and durable, I am happy to recommend it to others who wish to remove body hair. But, as mentioned above, I do have some serious reservations about the difficult to read mode buttons. If I could differentiate them more easily I would have given this hair remover the full five star rating. ... show more
