I purchased these to wear with a thin silk backless dress for a wedding. They came out of the packaging looking child-sized and I was concerned I wouldn't be able to get them past my knees, but that is what helps with the shaping and they stretched accordingly. I was concerned they would come up too far and would be able to be seen with the backless dress, but luckily for me the dress ends right where these begin and you can't see them. They smooth the lower stomach well but I wouldn't expect a miracle. I imagine you will still be able to detect bloating with these, but if you're looking for smoothing they will fit the bill. I'm pleased with my purchase.

I knew to order up one size which I did, though as others have stated the waist is too small. I am a bigger girl though my waist is smaller so I was surprised that the waist was so snug. I liked these panties though because they provide great tummy control without smashing your butt so I am returning and ordering one size up.

ordered because i was tired of tugging up my usual well-loved silk hipster briefs as they wear out & i was curious how specific style details would look like on. i am not interested in control aspect, so i ordered a couple of sizes up so i wouldn't be squeezed too tightly. i am generally pleased with them as they stay up well as hoped, leg bands stay nicely in place. they seem flattering from front, but not so much from back, but it might not be fair for the product to take all the blame ;-p i'm not used to this price point, but the leg bands may be worth the price if you've had trouble with those in less expensive one.
