Extremely easy to setup and use

Set up for the Ring Outdoor Smart Plug was simple and fast. Set it up in the Ring app, name your Outlet A and Outlet B, and done. I have my outdoor string lights plugged in, and will soon have my Traeger plugged in, as well. I already created a few routines with Alexa for the string lights that work great. My only issue with the Ring Outdoor Smart Plug is its reliance on the Ring Lighting Bridge. I don't think the Ring Lighting Bridge uses Z-Wave nor Zigbee. I am unsure why Ring didn't make this Smart Plug compatible with the Ring Alarm (Z-Wave), or with the Echo Gen4, Echo Show and Show 10, Echo Plus, Echo Studio, or eero 6 and Pro 6's internal Zigbee bridges. I know some of the newer Ring Smart Lighting products can work directly with the Echo Gen4 and Show 10 (unsure how that works, but apparently it does), so I can only hope support will come for that with the Ring Outdoor Smart Plug. The whole point of the internal Zigbee bridges is to reduce the number of smart bridges in a home. Ring and Amazon need to align better on the development of the smart home and how things connect. Make everything Zigbee, or focus on Thread (since that seems to be the future). TL;DR Ring Outdoor Smart Plug is great. Wish it didn't require the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge, but the Plug itself is a solid piece of hardware.

This plug is fantastic. I have all my lights set on a schedule through the Ring app. Never had an issue with it. Buy it. It is great. Two plugs, each separately controllable with the app.

This product does exactly what it says it does. I love how I can access it through my ring app and turn on my outside string lights manually or the fact that I can set a schedule to have them turn on automatically and turn off. You can set each outlet on its own schedule. As the warning says before setting a schedule, make sure you are not setting up electric tools to it and they turn on by themselves. Definitely recommend! Be sure to get the smart bridge as well.

I really liked how easy it was to setup with our current Ring system. We wanted to put external flood lights plugged into the outdoor Ring plug and this along with the Ring bridge allowed us to do that. We can turn them on with a simple command to Alexa or from our phones or programed into the camera security system we have. Definitely a must have even if it’s just for Christmas lights or turning lights on in your yard.

UPDATE I talked with a Amazon Representative about my low review. After explaining to the Representative that I rated it low due to the inability to give individual members of my household access to simply turn lights on and off they told me to give my account details to everyone I wanted to have access to the lights, chimes and other things attached to my Ring account to solve this issue. So you can only have one account and it must be shared. Seems like Amazon bought Ring 5 or so years ago and stopped innovating their technology. They created a light bridge to connect to Alexa and stopped supporting their tech. So if you want, what we would consider basic ability to allow others to turn on and of lights in your home, go find a different product. The representative did say that they will pass this onto their supervisors so I suppose that might get the ball rolling but after 5 years of little to no innovation I doubt it as I've learned that this has been a problem for years. You can only control the lights attached to this from one account. Other approved users will not have access to the features of this unit. Why?! So any time I’m not home my partner has to ask me to turn on/off the lights because you cannot share that function with other approved users in your household. Garbage waste of money.
