Top Amazon Reviews

  • Loving it so far!
Size: 55-inch
Over the past few years I have purchased a number of the normal FireTVs for some of our bedrooms and my older sons heading off to college. They have performed quite well, possibly amazing, for the price. In our living room we have an expensive large OLED that has truly been great but as noted was quite expensive. While I work from home, I work a lot, even on the weekends at times so I have been looking for something to put in my office. While as basic TV would have worked just fine I have gotten a little spoiled with the OLED. However I just didn't need to spend that kind of money for a secondary TV. As the office is also used to gaming on the weekends, I did want something with at least 120 Hrz refresh that would work with consoles. After doing some research I thought I had a decision back around Thanksgiving then I notice the new FireTV Omni Mini-LED. The list price was a little higher than I wanted but I couldn't find any reviews so I waited. However with looming price increases on the horizon decided to make a decision now. Even though the some of the review noted issues, it's known than more people leave reviews if they have issues than if they are happy, I decided to take a chance is get the Amazon Fire TV 55" Omni Mini-LED Series and I couldn't be happier. The menus, after the updates, is quite fast. The FireTV interface is very easy to use and has all the apps I need. While I haven't tested with a console yet, sports in 4K look amazing and you can definitely tell a difference between the 60Hrz and 120 Hrz, the sound is excellent and the picture is simply stunning! Is the sound as good an expensive sound bar or home theater system, no, but it's better than almost any TV I have heard in years. Is the picture as good as my OLED that cost 5x as much? No but it's pretty darn close. Connectivity to WiFi has been excellent and I'm running about 500 Mbps on a gig connection over an Eero Max 7 system. Those are both Amazon products so I expected them to work well together and they do. While most weekend nights it may just be streaming Twitch or watching sports during the day it's been nice to have the news on in the background this week and I've watched a couple of movies while working in the evenings. Overall, especially considering I got it on sale, I've very pleased with my purchase and price. Truly it is exactly what I was looking for in this case. While noted it may not be as great as the TV costing 5 times as much... considering the picture vs cost if this had been out a couple of years ago I would easily saved $1500 vs what I got our primary OLED for and purchased the larger version of this. To me there is a point of diminishing returns, I don't need perfection on color accuracy or black level, just close enough with the right features. Fantastic television, especially if you can pick it up with at least a little discount! ... show more

  • “Fire Up Your Bedroom Binge-Watching!”
Size: 55-inch
I grabbed this 55” Amazon Fire TV for my bedroom, and honestly—it’s been a total game-changer. The picture quality is sharp, colors pop, and the Fire OS is super smooth and easy to navigate. I love having all my streaming apps right at my fingertips without juggling multiple remotes. Setup was a breeze, and the Alexa voice remote actually works well, which is a nice bonus when you’re cozy in bed. Perfect size—not overwhelming like a living room TV, but still big enough to make movie nights feel special. If you want a reliable, affordable, and user-friendly TV for your bedroom, this one hits the mark. No fuss, just great streaming and chill vibes. ... show more

  • Solid Fire TV
Size: 75-inch
I've had a number of Fire TVs and used Fire TV sticks on other TVs for a number of years and this is easily the best one by miles. Setup is easy like with a standard fire stick and the interface is very snappy with esay access to the settings options. The picture and sound are really nice, works very well in a bright room, and syncs seamlessly with the Amazon Fire Sound Bar Plus (though sound is very good without the sound bar, but really pops with the sound bar). Love the Alexa voice control and the Ambient viewing experience. You will not be disappointed with purchasing this set (unless it goes on sale right after you buy it of course). ... show more

  • Slow Slow Slow OS. Not good with SlingTV.
Size: 55-inch
Slow Slow Slow is the Fire TV OS on this TV. Laggy just like all the other 2024 Fire TV models. Doesn't work well with the SlingTV app. If you are watching a SlingTV channel and command "ALEXA, TURN OFF THE TV", the TV turns off (picture goes black) but the sound from the SlingTV channel still plays on for several seconds. I won't review the picture quality because I can't get past the poor sluggish os performance. I do wish Amazon would fix this laggy menu system issue because all the 2024 Fire TV models suffer from this problem. Maybe it can be addressed in a future 2025/2026 release??? That's my gripe, the extremely poor performance of the Fire TV experience. And especially with-in various apps like SlingTV. Other annoyance, when using a USB flash drive containing mp4 movies, the media player app does not display the file artwork. Only displays the artwork icon of a random movie clip which means nothing. The media player cannot display artwork tags. Moving on... The sound is ok. The TV responds to Alexa commands (weather forecast, turn tv on-off). Remote is ok. The hyped "interactive artwork" feature isn't that great. I mean, in itself this feature is nothing you should be buying this TV for. You will be disappointed. Samsung first introduced the idea of a tv displaying art doubling as a picture frame, but the feature is mostly a gimmick. That's a lot of electricity just to display an art gallery in an empty room. It is truly a crying shame that Amazon failed to provide a powerful and responsive Fire TV operating system. It's the number one deal breaker with all these 2024 models, and I've tried four so far. Still debating to return. ... show more
