  • Great travel camera for a packed 3-week Southeast Asia trip
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
I just finished a 3-week trip through Southeast Asia and used the Luna as my only camera the whole time. Hit Bangkok (temples), Hanoi (street food/night markets), and Bali (beaches). I didn’t want to constantly switch gear, and this worked way better than I expected. The 20mm wide lens was honestly the MVP. Night markets get crowded, and I’m not trying to back into traffic just to get a decent shot, this let me capture everything without feeling like I was struggling for space. The 60mm zoom was perfect when I wanted closer detail. Temple carvings and patterns across courtyards look way more impressive when you can pull in a bit instead of just shooting from far away. Battery life was also solid for sightseeing days. I usually did charge at night, and it was enough for full days of walking and shooting. One more thing I didn’t expect to use as much as I did: the detachable screen. I ended up handing it to strangers so they could frame shots with me and landmarks in the background. I was worried it would be awkward, but it was surprisingly easy—and the pictures turned out great. Is it pricey? Yeah. But for what I brought home from this trip, it felt worth it. Overall: 5 stars. ... show more

  • Really impressed
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
Really impressed with the video quality and stabilization, walking shots look smooth without any extra gear. It's easy to get great footage fast, and the build feels solid. Unexpected perks: the detachable screen is a huge time-saver for solo framing, and the Leica colors are so good I barely edit anything anymore. A bit of a learning curve with all the modes, and battery is fine for casual days but grab the handle if you're shooting all afternoon. Still, I'd buy it again. ... show more

  • Excellent Camera, Very Happy with My Purchase
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
I’m very happy with this camera. The video quality is clear and detailed, and the camera is surprisingly easy to use. I especially like the detachable touchscreen, which makes it much easier to shoot from different angles. The zoom is useful, and the controls are straightforward. The camera and accessories also feel well made. I’ve used it several times already and have been very satisfied with the results. Great for everyday videos, travel, and family moments. Definitely a good purchase! ... show more

  • light, stable, and the battery actually lasts
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
The Luna hits the sweet spot. It's light enough that I toss it in my pocket and forget it's there. The 3-axis gimbal keeps footage smooth even on rocky trails. I filmed a steep descent and the footage looked like I was on a slider. The AI tracking works well for filming hiking partners, just tap their face and the camera keeps them centered while they walk ahead. I got a shot of a mountain goat across a canyon and it was clear enough to see its horns. Battery life surprised me. I shot intermittently for a full 8-hour hike and still had juice left. The fast charging meant I could top it up at the trailhead before driving home. The metal feet let me set it on a rock for a stable timelapse of the sunset. But it's not waterproof. And the lens module is front-heavy on a small tripod. But for hiking, this is the best camera I've found. ... show more

  • perfect Insta360
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
What stood out to me most wasn't the 8K video or the stabilization , it was the colors. I shot a ton of sunset scenes in Florence, and the gradients were so smooth, no banding at all. My wife even said the footage looked like something from a travel commercial. I didn't have to edit a single clip before sharing it with family. The detachable screen turned out to be an absolute lifesaver for group shots. I could just hand it to a stranger and they'd frame us perfectly in front of the Duomo – no more running back and forth to check if everyone was in the shot. We also used it to film ourselves walking through the streets without having to ask anyone for help. It made us feel like we were actually part of the video, not just stuck behind the camera the whole time. Battery life was solid: I charged it overnight and it lasted through full days of sightseeing. The only minor downside is the weight; after a while, you definitely notice it in your bag. But honestly, for what this thing delivers, I'd carry it anywhere. PERFECT ... show more

  • Luna just better
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
I wasn't planning to replace my DJI Pocket 3 but I'm glad I did. The Luna's active tracking works in situations where the DJI would fail ,fast movement, subjects turning away, even crossing through crowds. The screen microphone is also noticeably better, clearer and more natural sounding than the DJI's built-in mic. The detachable screen is another win – I can set the camera low to the ground or on a shelf, step back with the screen in hand, and frame myself without guessing. That alone saves me so much frustration. And the Leica colors straight out of camera look way richer than the DJI's flatter profile, I barely need to grade anything anymore. For actual content creation, this one wins. ... show more

  • Overheating and smart zoom (not smart)
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
Two main issues I experienced with this camera: - overheating after 50 min of recording at 4K 30fps, which stopped the recording. This was done inside the building with AC and controlled environment. A week prior to that point, the camera recorded 1 h 20 min interview outside with no overheating issues. Don’t like to leave my content goals to chance, need to be able to rely on my camera for a solid1.5 hours of recording at least. - smart zoom does not work as intended. This mode lets you select a specific area to track. When you do it on a person it defaults back to the head. You cannot select feet or hip area for example. It creates a problem for the kind of content I need and the ability to maintain the subject in the center of the shot. Tech support confirm that smart tracking is set up for head tracking, not anything else. I like the quality of the videos and low light performance. The remote control is a great idea but it works best for quicker shoots. The battery of the portable remote dies quickly, don’t expect to use it for more than 30-45 min on its own. ... show more

  • Amazing camera for sports parents.
Color: Cosmic Black Set name: Standard Bundle
I bought the Insta360 Luna Ultra mainly to record my daughter’s volleyball games, and I’ve been really happy with it so far. I wanted something that could give me better video than my phone, but I also didn’t want to bring a big camera and a bunch of gear with me every time we went to a game. For volleyball I’ve mostly been shooting in 4K at 60fps. The 60fps makes a big difference with a fast sport like volleyball, especially when I’m trying to capture serves, spikes, blocks, and some of the quicker rallies. The footage looks smooth, and I also have more flexibility if I want to slow down a good play afterward. One feature I’ve ended up liking a lot more than I expected is PureVideo. Anyone who has kids playing indoor sports knows how wildly different the lighting can be from gym to gym. Some are really bright and others are surprisingly dark. PureVideo has been really useful in those darker gyms and helps me get cleaner, more usable footage without having to fight the lighting as much. I’ve also been experimenting with iLog. The Standard profile looks good without doing much to it, but I like having iLog available when I know I’m going to color grade the footage later. I’ve been grading my iLog footage in DaVinci Resolve Studio and have been able to get some really nice results from it. The zoom has also been more useful than I expected. At volleyball games you don’t always get to choose where you’re going to sit or stand, so being able to quickly change the framing is really convenient. I can shoot a wider view of the court and then zoom in when I want to concentrate on my daughter without carrying another lens or moving around the gym. I also really like how small the camera is. This might actually be one of my favorite things about it. Between chairs, bags, water bottles and everything else we’re already bringing to volleyball, the last thing I want is another big camera bag. I can bring the Luna Ultra along without really thinking about it. There is definitely a learning curve if you want to get everything you can out of the camera. I’ve spent some time experimenting with the manual exposure settings, iLog, and the different shooting modes. Bright outdoor shooting in particular took me a little experimenting to get the exposure where I wanted it. But you can also leave it in the easier automatic modes and get good footage without knowing all of that. Overall, I’m really happy with it. I originally bought it specifically for recording volleyball, but I’ve found myself using it for other things too because it’s so easy to bring along. If you’re a parent who records a lot of your kid’s games and wants something more capable than a phone without carrying around a full-size camera setup, the Luna Ultra is a really nice middle ground. ... show more
