I purchased the Insta360 GO Ultra in November because I had a lot of travel planned and wanted a camera that could capture everyday moments without requiring much thought or setup. Its small size, battery life, and ease of use were especially important to me. The camera has been extremely convenient. I often wear it using the magnetic pendant, and people regularly ask what it is because they are surprised that such a small device is actually a camera. Unfortunately, after about three months, the camera stopped charging and became unusable. I was very disappointed and initially considered requesting a refund. However, after contacting the seller, I learned that Insta360’s after-sales service could help. After several messages with the support team, they asked me to send the camera to Hong Kong for inspection and repair. They explained that if the problem was covered by the warranty, the repair and shipping costs would be waived. At the time, I was in Brazil, where importing and exporting electronics can be complicated. My next trip to a neighboring country was four months away, but the support team kindly confirmed that I could wait and send it later. Once I arrived in Peru, I shipped the camera. It reached Hong Kong in about a week, was repaired within a few days, and was shipped back shortly afterward. The issue was fully covered under warranty, and I did not have to pay the repair or shipping costs. I am very happy to have my Insta360 GO Ultra working again. I am also very pleased with the experience. Get this camera so we can support companies like this so they can be around for a long time.

Small, powerful and fun. I've used this camera a few times taking my dog out for his walks and I was impressed with how small it was. I appreciate the module being lightweight. I had to keep checking it didnt fall off during the times my dog got the zoomies. The quality of the images were good for my purposes and I think the price was fair especially since it was on sale at the time. I have other action cameras and I think this will compliment rather than replace. The night time images were usable but I had realistic expectations on what a small sensor could do so I wasn't disappointed. If that is a concern you have please look for sample night videos and make your decision based on that. Its an awesome little camera.

I had been deciding between the Insta360 GO Ultra and the newer DJI Osmo Nano. I had both, but ultimately decided to go with the GO Ultra. I feel as if the GO Ultra is the more complete product, in terms of usability and features. I love all the different shooting modes and options I have when taking either photo or video (I really like live photos!). The portable screen/dock is in my opinion, way better than the Osmo Nano, I can grip it better and the size is compact but still portable. The magnetic mounts are strong, and I found that attaching the camera module to any magnetic post is a great way to get a good shot. As this is my first Insta360 product, I didn't have any issues with having different types of mounts across the same product line, but I can see how in the future accessory compatibility will be an issue. Picture quality is great, I like the options to quickly select between resolutions and frame rates, as well as how I can export at different bitrates depending on the platform I intend to share it on. Another point of concern I had was the overheating issue. At least with my camera, I have had zero issues with recording outdoors, continuously for at least 20 minutes without it complaining about overheating (Osmo nano did). It also doesn't get super hot to the touch like the other did, and really only gets 'hand warmer' warm at its hottest. All in all, I think this product is worth the 150 dollar step up from other action cams. All the features make me confident and ready for my vacations that I have ahead.

The Insta360 Ultra is definitely a fun device. I purchased this camera to record my runs (I'm training for a marathon) and for my trip to Osaka. I wanted to vlog more and document my day to day. Overall, it's been an okay device. It's nice to have for entry level. I found the compact form factor made recording easier, but since it was another device it added bulk to my life - another thing to carry. I think the battery life is decent. The video quality isn't bad if you know the settings. The audio it picks up is surprisingly good. It's easy to export and edit videos via the app. It's easy to start recording via a button. The main issue I have is that the device does get hot. I would film my walks/runs and after the 10 minute mark, it would get very warm. I have tried using it with the pendant, and it felt uncomfortable on my chest after 20 minutes. I don't have a pacemaker. It's a similar feeling to using your phone while charging. I also lost the clip. It fell off my backpack during my trip. As of writing, it's sold out. I got the camera at the end of September and in October, I couldn't find this product in Japan and the clip is not available on Amazon for purchase. It's annoying because without the clip, the camera cannot capture POV of my runs/walks - the perspective that's unique and cannot be captured by other devices. I would clip it to my cap for runs. It surprisingly stays on at 9:00 min/mile pace, but I am afraid to go any faster - as an fyi, it does feel heavy after 3 miles. A side note: I ran to issues trying to edit with my computer. My computer is older and couldn't handle the editing. My phone could, but doesn't have enough storage to render. For my needs, I wish I purchased a newer phone - as it was easier to just record and post. This camera added an extra step.

I’ve owned several action cameras over the years and the Insta360 GO Ultra stands out as the best all-around option for most people. The image quality is exceptional and rivals the best action cameras on the market regardless of size. Low light performance is equally impressive and finally matches the industry leaders. What makes the GO Ultra unique is its flexibility. You can remove the 53g camera module from the action pod and suddenly you have a tiny, lightweight camera that can be magnetically mounted almost anywhere. It can also be worn for POV footage in a much more discreet way than a conventional action camera. Battery life is very reasonable. The quick charge feature lets you top up to 80 percent in just 12 minutes with a power bank, which makes it easy to keep shooting throughout the day. Some reviewers have criticized the switch from internal storage to microSD, but I think it’s an advantage. Having the option to carry multiple low-cost cards means you effectively have unlimited storage without being locked into the fixed internal memory of past GO models. There are a few downsides. The action pod itself is still not waterproof, so only the camera module can go underwater. You also can’t swap batteries if you need truly uninterrupted hours of filming, although that’s a niche case. Finally, the module is slightly larger and heavier than previous GO models, which makes it a little less discreet, but the tradeoff is worth it for industry-leading image quality and features. Overall this is the most versatile and user-friendly action camera on the market right now. For anyone who values flexibility, portability, and outstanding video quality, the Insta360 GO Ultra is hard to beat.

The video quality, stabilization, and feature set are fantastic. Unfortunately, I cannot overlook the severe phantom battery drain, and had I known about it beforehand, it would have been a deal-breaker for me. The camera module appears to lose roughly 10% of its charge per day while sitting idle. As the camera discharges, the charging dock periodically wakes up and recharges it. This creates a continuous cycle that slowly drains both batteries, leaving the camera and dock completely depleted after about a week of non-use. In practical terms, if you don't use the camera regularly, you'll need to remember to recharge it every 7–10 days just to prevent it from sitting dead in your bag. This is especially concerning because lithium-ion batteries do not benefit from being stored fully discharged. Repeatedly allowing sealed, non-user-replaceable batteries to reach 0% can accelerate long-term battery degradation and reduce the overall lifespan of the product. Insta360 urgently needs to address this with a firmware update, such as a true deep-sleep or storage mode that minimizes standby power consumption. Until then, this issue significantly undermines what is otherwise an excellent camera. Think about it: the entire purpose of a small action camera is to be ready when a moment worth capturing happens. If the camera is frequently dead when you reach for it, that convenience disappears. No matter how impressive the image quality is, a camera that constantly needs to be recharged between uses becomes difficult to rely on. I am currently working with Insta360 support and will be shipping the unit back for warranty evaluation. I will update this review once that process is complete. If Insta360 is able to provide a fix, replacement, firmware update, or another satisfactory resolution, I will gladly revise my opinion. However, if no solution is available and a refund is not offered, I will ultimately have to stop using the device because it simply is not reliable enough for its intended purpose. Reliability is one of the most important characteristics of a compact action camera, and a device that is frequently dead when you need it defeats the entire purpose of owning one. If you don't want "charge the camera I haven't used" added to your weekly to-do list, you may want to consider other options.

I'm gonna give this a 3.5-4 stars. This camera is great for an action camera with thousands of different ways to mount it while out and about. The battery life is not great, and it does get hot if you're recording with a high bitrate and 40k60fps footage, but it doesn't take long to cool down. It charges super fast, so while it does cause an inconvenience while you're out to carry a power bank or something, it doesn't take long to get back to full battery. As a woman with a large chest, the pendant that comes with the camera is not to most stable nor does it sit at a great angle for the POV shots, which is what I really wanted this for. I will have to mount this to a hat or my shoulder, because the standalone pod will not stay secure when I'm walking and it's bouncing around on the pendant. Maybe I can find a way to better secure it, whether with my own clothing or movement, but just a heads up to the women out there with bigger busts. This camera is not necessarily as a great at that for you. I like that it's a small and discreet camera. It makes it so easy to transport and throw in your bag for the daily vlogs. I really wanted the white, but I chose the black because it blends in way more than the white does, especially on your clothing. The video quality is okay, but I definitely either need to learn how to record with better settings or edit in post better. I don't want to believe that the people that were marketing this camera on YouTube and Instagram were just lying about the quality. Compared to my Xtra Muse, it's not the greatest quality, but it's an action camera, so I kinda give it some grace for that. This should not be your main camera. This should be a supplement to another device, which I like to have now that I have both. I have not been able to capture any nighttime footage that wasn't absolutely terrible. Even in fair lighting inside, I experience a lot of noise and grainy, blurry footage. As for the pricing, I think it's a bit high, considering how many accessories you really need to make the user experience better. I have spent about $50 on just the new Micro Lens kit as well as the Aqua Lens. I mention the lenses and accessories, because when you're shooting outside content during the day, you will definitely need the ND filter kit they sell for this camera. The lens flare from the sun is so bright that it almost ruined some of my footage. Overall, I like the camera a lot. I like how discreet it is, and the quality is okay for a supplemental action cam, but I don't know if I would agree that this is the "perfect vlogging camera". I just think maybe it should be more along the lines of $300-$350 instead of $450 for the camera, $500 for the Creator Kit.
