  • Great microphone arm!
Size: Medium
Getting started podcasting and creating videos is challenging enough. This mic arm took the challenge out of positioning the mic. It's easily adjustable, and my pop filter fit simply and securely. This arm can be attached almost anywhere. I record in a bunch of locations. For one, I sit in an armless, comfortable chair, pull up a dining room chair next to me, and affix the mic arm to the chair arm. I also record standing, and I'm able to attach the mic to a tall table positioned in front of me. As long as you have at least 3/4" of overhang on a table, you'll be able to attach the arm. Installing and adjusting the mic arm is simple and it works right out of the box. One of the most important adjustments for me is rotating the arm, bringing it closer to me or further away. That's as simple as pushing or pulling the mic. And if I want to lock down the rotation, all it takes is a few twists of a screw with my hand. I'm totally happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone who needs a sturdy, adjustable, easy to use mic arm. ... show more

  • Excellent value
Size: Medium
Have to admit, this was a trial purchase to see what the quality was and if it would be useful for my project. I was pleasantly surprised. It works flawlessly. I'm hanging a very heavy item from the mic holder and I haven't even had to adjust the spring for "heavier" items!!!! It must be capable of handling 2-3 lbs!!!! It's very rigid. The only thing I did was to add a plastic sleeve into the base as without such the thing would wobble or spin if you knocked it. It does have a lock nut but I didn't want to use this. The plastic sleeve was made from the plastic from a quart milk container. I just cut a piece out and made it wrap (but nor overlap itself). Inserted into the base and now the thing rotates with a small amount of force without locking. Great improvement to a very good value item. Also impressed it came with a roll of plumbers silicone tape to use on the 5/8"-1/2" adaptor. Very nice touch. Highly recommend ... show more

  • A really good option for an entry level boom arm
Size: Medium
I picked up this arm the other day to help get my desk clean of the standing mic I had taking up valuable surface real estate. I looked at things like the Rode PSA1 which seems to be one of the more "standard" options at this point, but I'm not a podcaster, I just need a good setup for work meetings, gaming, and anything else I might need--but this is for home use, not a studio. Out of the box, the setup is very easy--it's mostly assembled, and all you need to do is attach the clamp to your desk or tabletop, pop in the actual arm itself, and attach your mic. For attachment, it does come with a thread adapter as well as an angled clip, but I didn't use either of these since I had another option for those already. They seem fine and straightforward, I'm not sure if more can really be said about them. The package also includes some teflon tape. I'm not sure how valuable this is. I noticed my mic was slipping a little and getting unscrewed easily, so I applied it, and things are a little more snug, but I honestly don't think it made much real difference. That said, it's a nice inclusion since the fit might not be perfect. The arm is easy to adjust, it holds in place even with a medium weight microphone. Running my XLR cable was fine, and made easier by the included 5 hook and loop fasteners. I do have a couple of little quirks with this arm that I'm still getting used to a little bit. One, it seems to wobble quite a bit when I type on the keyboard, even though it should be decoupled at least somewhat by distance from the surface. It's not a huge problem, and I am a heavy typist, so this is probably more my fault than anything, but it is noticeable. The only thing I need beyond that is to have a ball head on this mount point--it it a bit obnoxious that I can only rotate it one way, at the end. This happens to work okay for my mic setup, because I happen to angle it perpendicular to the way I want to point the mic. It would be nice if I could angle the mic up from its position, though. All in all, it's really hard to find too much fault with this thing for the price. I couldn't really expect much more from this price point. It may not last forever, but if I run into issues like that I'll upgrade when it makes sense. For now this is a solid entry level option for my needs. ... show more

Its got a good grip to it. The material feels pretty sturdy and of good quality. So far no problems with it.

  • Awesome entry mic-boom for the money!
Size: Medium
This mic boom sets the gold standard for entry-level equipment. Having gone through 2-3 of these style mic booms in the past, I've often found them to be subpar, but this one is different. It effortlessly supports my AT-2020 without any signs of wear or sagging. With its full extension capability, I can easily position it from my desk to my mouth, and when not in use, it neatly folds away, minimizing clutter. The adjustable tightness ensures a secure grip both on the boom arm itself and on the surface it's clamped to – in my case, my desk. The addition of protective feet on the clamp prevents any damage to the desk surface. Overall, it's a fantastic mic boom, and I wholeheartedly recommend it, especially for newcomers venturing into the world of XLR mics. ... show more
