This InnoGear Desk Mic Boom is exactly what I needed for several reasons. First, I needed to get my mic in front of me when I am recoding voiceovers (VO) for my animated stories. The articulated boom lets me pull my HyperX mic directly where I needed it. Second, I need my limited desk space for scripts and not for a mic stand taking space. This InnoGear boom has a high support that easily clamps onto the side of the desk. It lets the boom arm swing so I can get the mic in front of me, then out of the way quickly. The arm has a great reach, letting me place the mic over the edge of the desk, then pull it to the center. There are clips and 'hook and loop' straps that secure the USB mic cable to the arm, keeping everything organized. InnoGear supplies several adapters so you can adapt the HyperX like I did, or Shure SM7B, MV7, Blue Yeti and others mentioned in the seller's description. Another way the InnoGear helps me maximize use of my limited desk space is by providing a small bracket that clips on the boom for my wired headset to rest on - a nice benefit. The boom is easy to move and stays in place without having to over tighten it. I decided to mount the boom on the left side of my desk, but you can also mount it on the back of the desk. I am very pleased with how well this mic boom organizes my desk (and the USB mic cable) while easily moving in and out of where I need it.

Everything you need came in the box, except the microphone and cable. Instructions are easy to follow, step by step. Comes with snap on wire-guides and removeable (re-useable) tie-straps to keep wires orderly and in place. Also, comes with two microphone holders: for standard slide-on microphones and an adjustable microphone holder for wider-other model microphones. I LOVE the tension clip for thicker microphones. It does come with the standard mic holder as well. Easy to put together and fasten to your desk. Easy to stretch out and swivel around as well as put up and out of the way.
