The size is on the small size , but for the money it is a nice little portable fire pit. As for the size yes they did specify the sizes available , but did not think i needed to spend the additional money for the large size. If you are a big set by the fire type then definitely get the larger size. The unit itself is very well made and very sturdy and works well, please understand you will go thru a lot of "pellets" when burning but that is expected and also I tried small pieces of wood (twigs and small branches) and burnt very well. After cooled down put the unit in its provided caring bag and fit fine, and I also wanted to see if I could include some wood pellets and got a gallon size zip bag and filled with pellets and put them inside the burner and zipped closed NICE! Over all I feel it was a good buy for myself and wife (and she liked it) and she is cold during 70 degree temps! ... show more

The paint and the bottom plate that holds your fuel warped on me during the 1st burn. Second burn took some more paint off and after a few days the rusty looks came in. I keep it outside. And clean the ashes out. I don't store it in the bag and just keep it under the patio. Works great to burn wood. Some pellets tend to fall thru the holes into the bottom. I buy bricks of hardwood sawdust to cook with since it's cheaper than buying BBQ wood. I did buy this as a fire pit and realized if I let the flame go to coals I could cook on it as well. ... show more

Family member has severe allergies, the very small amount of smoke didn’t seem to bother them. I got about 1:45 burn time out of 40lb bag of pellets. I think we over fed it or possibly have gotten 2 hours. Only drawback was if we didn’t keep it really stoked up the heat doesn’t radiate a lot outwards on small flame like traditional campfires. It’s like the double wall may be acting as a heat shield. But when stoked we’ll plenty of heat for brisk night. My pellets didn’t fall through holes in bottom much but that wasn’t a big issue for 2 hours of fire. But for longer u might need a way to mixed them down the holes or something it was filling to the marks they recommended for pellets. Over great purchase would buy again for the money. ... show more

Is it a Solostove? No. Don’t expect it to be a solostove. But does it do the same thing a solostove does for a third of the price? Sure does. I don’t even cover mine and leave it outside and it still looks pretty good almost a year later. Great for those smaller porches and whatnot (I wouldn’t use it on anything other than a concrete pad, don’t use it on a wooden porch, obviously.). I purchased this to have with me when camping because sometimes the fire rings aren’t provided or are in bad locations compared to where you want them. The small size is nice because it does not take up a ton of space but is big enough to handle about 3 16-18” pieces of wood in a pyramid configuration. I’ve been putting about 2” of pellets on the bottom and the some firewood and the fire/flames are excellent, a good 12” above the rim. I like this pellet burner, It's small compact, has a case, and it Burns well. You just have to feed it frequently with 1 or 2 handfuls or the fire goes out and it smokes until it catches fire.
