Description

Based on the video game phenomenon, Injustice: Gods Among Us Omnibus Vol. 2 is the story of a war between gods for the future of humanity. A GOD GONE MAD. AND THE HEROES WHO SEEK TO SET IT RIGHT. Superman was Earth's greatest hero. He was the shining beacon of truth, justice, and the American way. Forever an inspiration for the brighter future ahead, the Man of Tomorrow made the world want to be better. Then everything changed in a single day. When the Man of Steel couldn't protect those he held most dear, he decided being a hero wasn't enough. To truly save this world, he would have to abandon his philosophy as the Big Blue Boy Scout and become the ruler he felt humankind needed. Superman quickly takes control, forcing unlikely allies to find each other. Batman, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern, and even the gods themselves will come together to try to defeat the Man of Steel. But will they be strong enough? And would anyone change sides, becoming a champion for the gods? • Look past the formulaic story and it is quite an entertaining omnibus
Volume 2 wraps up the Injustice story line including the 12 issues Ground Zero which is the comics retelling of the story in the video game. Ground Zero is told from the Harley Quinn's point of view. The story is formulaic in that Superman's evil Regime has all the powerful heroes (now effectively villains) such as Wonder Woman, Yellow (Green) Lantern, Flash, Cyborg, etc... and Batman's Insurgency has all the non super powered heroes such as Batwoman and Batgirl. Every action that Batman's Insurgency took was defeated by the Regime. When it seemed like defeat was inevitable, Batman's Insurgency over came all odds and wins in the end. Also, some characters don't behave as expected. For instance, Aquaman has a distaste for Regime Superman because Regime Superman threatened to destroy Atlantis on multiple occasions but towards the end when the tide had obviously turned against the Regime, Aquaman still sided with the Regime. Same thing for Black Adam. That just does not make sense. However, if you can look past the flaws in the story, this omnibus is action packed and very entertaining. The art is fantastic. This is a must have/read if you are a fan of the video game or just a fan of the Justice League characters. I just wished the writers had created more evenly matched teams instead of creating a super team lead by Superman who is already too powerful! ... show more

  • A Mess
First omnibus was exciting and fun. This collection is a bloated unnecessary mess. The Leaguers that sided with Superman are acting completely out of character for absolutely no reason. Ex: Cyborg has evidence Superman murdered 200+ civilians in cold blood, but does nothing. Then Cyborg erases the proof on Supermans order. The story is just one giant run on. The Greek gods are only there for a short while before running off. The only semi interest part is Harley Quinn's perspective. Basically, only get this if you must. Its not very entertaining. ... show more

  • The writers of Ground Zero ruined an epic tale
Was great until Ground Zero. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make Harley narrate and be the center of the end of this is an absolute idiot. It ruined the story. The book goes from epic to boring in just one turn of a page.
