Okay guys, the story is stellar and the art is fun and it keeps you interested, I would have LOVED an all black cover with gold embossed letters beyond the dust jacket but am I satisfied HELL YES, I am particularly proud of the way women take the reigns in this comic too, at this price point too what’s to dislike?! Guys if you want a great story it’s here. I happen to be a guy who loves his one stories meaning, I like when I can pick up a graphic novel and know everything that’s going on, just reading what’s there. I watched the animated movie before the reading the omnibus, the movie is great but once you read the comic you'll see the true story. The movie leaves out so much, I purchased 1 and 2 from Amazon and read both in a couple weeks. The story and the art work is great. I had almost stopped reading comics but after reading Injustice I'm back into comics full force lol. I honestly can't recommend Injustice 1 and 2 enough, great product and arrived in perfect shape. I hear all these stories about people receiving beat up books from Amazon but I've never gotten anything but perfect copies each time. ... show more

This is one of the best Justice League stories ever. What happens when the most powerful man on earth loses his moral compass? Superman murdered the Joker after the Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane and their unborn baby. Further, Joker set a dead man switch which nuked Metropolis with the death of Lois Lane. In order to "save" the world, Superman and his allies decided to impose their will on the peoples of earth. Batman, of course, kept his moral compass and opposed the super dictatorship thus setting up a fight to the death and there are death a plenty. There are elements of Kingdom Come and Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme 12 issue limited series. In Kingdom Come, Lois was also killed by a super villain but instead of losing it, Superman retreated from society. After 20 years, he was convinced to come out of retirement by Wonder Woman. The 1980's Squadron Supreme limited series saw the Squadron impose Utopia with Nighthawk (Batman analogue) opposing and forming for a resistance team. If you like this omnibus, go read those two graphic novels. This volume presents years 1, 2 and 3 of the 5 years before the video game of the same name. I hope DC will publish volume 2 of this series and present years 4, 5, related stories and the sequel, Injustice 2. ... show more

What would you do if in the blink of an eye you lost everything you've ever loved? Would you pick yourself up off the ground and move on, or would you give in to despair? This is the scenario the Man of Steel is faced with. His city, his wife, even his unborn child: all gone by his own hand. In response, in a moment of pure rage and emotional turmoil Superman goes after the man responsible and does the unthinkable. Superman kills the Joker. This is the inciting incident. Now, after losing everything and acquiring a taste for blood, Superman goes to work. The Regime is born and the Justice League stands divided. Some follow Superman because they agree with actions. Others follow out of fear. But some... some won't bend the knee so easily. Don't let the fact that this is a video game tie in turn you away. This is much more than a tie in. This is an epic that eclipses the game itself. This is DC's Civil War, and while it might not be part of the main canon, the world created here feels fully developed and lived in. These may be alternate versions of your favorite characters, but they still feel like the heroes and villains you know. If you consider yourself a fan of DC or superheroes in general I implore you to read this. And pick up Volume 2 while you're at it. This story is a great deconstruction of the Superman character and showcases why his idealism that some may find corny is so very important. This is a great story about Superman becoming a dictator. What is great about it is that you don't need prior knowledge about any of the superheroes' history since it is a full story on its own!

Awesome and in the best shape as shipped. Read thru it 3 times and it didn't fall apart or crease. Worth every penny for the story. Can't wait for the rest in an omnibus.

    • A Modern Day Epic

I had multiple doubts prior to purchasing this graphic novel, I always told myself "it's been done before, what's so good about a prequel to a video game?". Most of this was due to the lackluster prequel saga for Arkham Knight's campaign. Upon finishing this graphic novel just one day ago, I can confidently say this item is worth purchasing. The omnibus is divided into three years, each year is dedicated to a certain weakness of Superman. That being in order: World Building/Conflict Set-Up, War of The Lantern Corps, and Magic. It's quite brilliant in my opinion, but it reads just like watching a film. Below I will discuss each year and my thoughts on it. Year One functions as strictly a setup, it introduces the conflict and the reason why Superman has turned into an alien dictator. This was easily the best chapter within the three-year arc of the omnibus, due to its intense character development. There were two scenes that really struck me, and just surrendered all my respect towards Tom Taylor. The first scene took place in the early days of Superman's regime, and Flash had just joined Superman in taking down a minor hero who'd stood against them in Australia. Superman left the hero crippled and powerless, and Flash, the fastest man in the world, stood motionless while it happened, causing a crisis of conscience. The second scene was the one most general audiences are familiar with, that being the death of Lois Lane. It was truly heartbreaking, considering the graphic novel goes into vivid detail about Superman's intentions of being the perfect father and wishing for Batman to be the godfather. So witnessing Superman beat his own wife to death, only for the Joker to laugh manically, is something that will haunt readers. The second-year is the introduction of the Green Lantern corps. There are a lot of good character arcs, and it serves as a proper sequel to where Year One left off. I personally have never been too big a fan of the Green Lantern lore, but the comic does a great job of introducing the corp as well as the Guardians the planet of Oa as a whole. Unfortunately, I can't go into detail without going into spoiler territory, but it is definitely worth the read. Year Three is where the story got a little lackluster for me. Upon the ending of the Lantern Corp's arc, the character of John Constantine is introduced. His character arc is interesting, but the fact of magic being brought constantly did nothing but cause these superheroes to fight countless times causing the overall ending fight to be less impactful than it should've been. If you personally are a fan of the Justice League Dark lore, then you will find Year Three the most interesting of the three years. In conclusion, if you have a slight interest in the Injustice saga, purchase the omnibus. You'd be paying slightly more for both omnibus' but it makes an amazing collector's item. Past the variant covers, behind-the-scenes content, and beautiful hardcover artwork, it looks almost God-like. ... show more

Tom Taylor got handed the keys, and he took us on a ride. Injustice is way better than any tie-in to a video game ever needed to be. I am serious when I say this is nearing DARK KNIGHT RETURNS level on an else world title. Taylor nails charcters in one or two panels, breaks our hearts with a line of dialogue, and keeps what should be a take on Superman that we've all half imagined feeling brilliant and fresh. I want to thank all the positive reviews for this, I was really hesitant on this purchase and now have one of my favorite books on my shelf. THANK YOU ALL! ... show more
