I bought this air hammer to use around the house. I had to remove some old floor concrete that was too high to allow laminate to sit properly ( its a high spot that remained after a fireplace was removed and the house extended). The air hammer and chisel made short work of this bulge. The air hammer is heavy and well built. I was surprised how easily is chopped through the concrete. I have also used it to remove some old tile. That worked easily also. I have a 6 gallon air compressor and would recommend a larger one if you want to use this air hammer for long periods of time. Also, the kit does not come with oil, so make sure you get some if this is your first pneumatic tool. 3/25/2014 I have downgraded the hammer to a 4 based on the quality of the chisels that come with the hammer. Over time the base of the chisels get small burrs that cause the chisel to get stuck in the quick change retainer. I have to file these burrs to get the chisel out. ... show more

Nice case and presentation when I opened the lid. I was a little annoyed it didn't come with a nipple (like most air tools you buy). I had to snag one off my brad nailer, but the ad didn't say it had one so I can't complain too much about it. I have a foyer that seems that some >>>> poured cement then placed slate on top of it and bought the most back room dollar a yard tile before I bought the house. Literally 1 inch of concrete. A sledge hammer just chipped up and made a mess of the tiles, this little beauty had many uses. I used every bit today. some to remove grout, some to remove the tile. Worked great at 90PSI This was the same price as renting a hammer drill for 2 days so totally worth the purchase. Too bad my project is done... but amazing it made an all day job a 2 hour snap. I paid the high price for this product specifically to avoid buying a Chinese quality one. I have always used Ingersoll Rand tools in the shop and have had good experiences. When I received the tool, I immediately realized that it was made in China. Within an hour of using it, the bit retainer snapped. It was clearly made from Chinese grade recycled metal. a.k.a. they made it out of metal they got from melting down a used clothes drier with the lint still in it. I took it to a certified IR service center and they didn't have an IR replacement bit retainer, but they were able to give me a speed loader off of a similar brand display model that fit. By the end of the day the chisel I was using jambed in the speed loader. The metal was of such obvious low quality that it had deformed from the force of the tool itself. I used a dremel to trim down edge and got it working again. By the end of the second day the tool starting losing force despite being oiled regularly. I took it apart, cleaned it and got it back up to full speed. By the end of the job on the third day the tool was barely functioning and it didn't matter how much I cleaned it. Upon further inspection I realized that too much air was slipping past the hammer due to wear. Again, probably from cheap metal. I spent more time fixing this tool than actually using it; I should have just gone to Harbor Freight and bought one for $15. ... show more

Super powerful and well built. This product goes above and beyond. The lightweight design and shock-absorber are killer and completely hide the fact that this gun is unbelievably strong. Durable, lightweight and hammers like Donkey Kong on a bannanna. A++++++ I purchased this to re-do the tiling on my kitchen floor but was EXTREMELY pleased that I was able to later use the dulled chisels to completely nullify myself. The satisfaction brought to my master's face as the quick painful blows removed my manhood made this item worth every brownie (one american cent). I wish I could purchase more attachments for it but my genitals are already destroyed and all I have left is a buildup of scar tissue. Would recommend for the whole family. ... show more
