These floating shelves added so much to my kitchen. My kitchen lacked storage and I needed something that was cute and functional. 1. This is not industrial by any means nor is it black iron pipe (pic 1). It is a cheap alloy of sorts, painted to look like industrial black iron. That being said, after installation it does seem sturdy enough. Actual dimensions are 43 3/4" high (pic 3) x 14 1/4" deep x infinite* width. Install instructions follow. 2. Installation isn't difficult at all if you are patient and have some basic experience. DON'T USE A PIPE WRENCH TO TIGHTEN. It is not needed and you will strip the threads. LIGHTLY hand tighten only, I left mine loose until mounting. 3. Tools: you'll want a light duty drill, impact (optional), 6' level, 7/32" drill bit, pen/pencil, and a #2 Phillips bit. 4. INSTALLATION: The instructions show to put it completely together before putting on the wall. I like my shelves centered and level though. Assemble the standoff pipes with bases first. Use 2 of them to set the top shelf height that you want. Drill and attach the first one, use anchor and one screw. Go to the other side, place level, and mark where you want the outside to be (pic 4). Remove the top pipe that you have already attached, assemble both sides now. Install the assembled bracket at the top most hole, level for plumb (up and down pic #5). Mark all holes. Do the same for the opposite side. Remove both brackets, drill all holes, install brackets. If you left it loose, you'll be able to adjust as needed, tighten standoffs, then mount. 5. I didn't realize it was THAT big, so I assembled mine with 3 shelves instead of 4. With 3 shelves, the assembled height is 29 1/4". Pic 6 ... show more

I use these shelves behind a bar in a house I was flipping. They were easy to assemble, but it was hard to find a product to use as a shelf that wouldn’t be extremely heavy. I suppose if you catch the beams when installing it, it would be much sturdier than using the anchors that were included. Finally I found an engineered flooring that was rigid enough to work. But the end result is beautiful and it is easy to adapt the shelves to whatever width you need them to be. ... show more

Easy to install. I lined up the mounting disc holes to align straight up and down. This way I was able to mount on a wall stud. I appreciate they sent good screws and wall anchors, thank you! Pipe is sturdy but lightweight and gives a nice quality finished look. One of our walls wasn't perfectly flat so I unscrewed the pipe just a little as well as the wall mounting disc. This extended the piping just enough to fit it flush to the wall while still holding sturdy. ... show more

This is actually a really nice shelving system. I painted mine white which is why it looks different than the original photo. What they don’t tell you though is how hard this is to install. Oh and you need to purchase your own shelves because you’re only purchasing the side brackets or pipes. You need to make sure that this is installed into your wall studs because it’s heavy. And when I say that it’s hard to install it’s just that you have to make sure it’s plumb because if you install this at crooked it shows up very easily and then the other side has to be equal and level which is why I used masking tape in the photo. Also each bracket has four screws. I used duct tape on the flanges and temporary nails to ensure that I had the pipes/brackets lined up properly and then I screwed it into the wall. I stepped back frequently to make sure everything was even. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice shelving system and it seems to me that it’s real metal pipes and flanges so it’s very hefty. I will add a photo after I get all of my extras set-up, but this is a perfect foundation for shelving! I’m using mine as a shelved bar, but it can definitely be sued for many things whether in the kitchen, laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, you name it. I’m 5’0, 127lbs, 23, and can barely wash my own clothes, so the people that were complaining about putting this together without instructions are truly irrational. looking at the image a few times while piecing it together is similar to that of a 10 piece jigsaw puzzle. I will say that the sturdiness is a bit questionable, but that’s only because you determine most of the sizing and weighing in your own. I won’t have a full bar per day but I share as hell don’t want an empty one, so we will see. :) ... show more
