  • Great beginner incubator
Size: M12 Style: 2.M12-Blue (Not Recommended)
The media could not be loaded. Ordered this incubator last minute to hatch eggs from a hen that I had lost by predator. I have used it twice so far. The first hatched 3 out of 8 and the second hatched 1 out of 12. I do not blame the incubator for the low hatch rates however. On the first hatch there were eggs that ended up not being fertile and on the second hatch they were almost 3 week old eggs before I was finally able to get them set. Only 3 of those 12 eggs ended up being viable. As far as incubator quality...it feels sturdy, and appears like it will hold up to use. It is extremely easy to set up, operate and clean afterwards, which makes it nice for in home use. It's small enough to easily set on a kitchen counter and not be in the way. Some things to consider before purchasing: The temperature stayed consistent although it ran slightly lower than the set temp. You may want to increase the set temp slightly to get your desired range. You'll want to add a hygrometer/thermometer inside the incubator to keep an eye on those numbers. I found the humidity to be the most challenging issue with this incubator. The water bottle while it does deliver water to the incubator, I found to be difficult to adjust and it kept the humidity higher than necessary (around 80%). In the future I would dry hatch instead or just manually add water as needed through the tube. I have had zero issues with the automatic turner with the chicken eggs. I saw several negative comments in the reviews about the turner but I never personally experienced any issues. As long as the lid was secured correctly the turner has worked. It's easy to do a test turn to make sure it's working if you're not sure. Overall I am pleased with this unit and will update once I have run a dry hatch through it. Would love for it to be able to hold more than 12 chicken eggs but so far it has done it's job with the eggs that were viable. ... show more

  • Great value!
Size: M12 Pro Style: 6.M12 Pro-Blue (Hatch Rate Upgrade)
I breed and sell silky chicks. I've purchased two of these incubators so far and I really love them for the value. Don't get me wrong, it's not the fanciest incubator you've ever seen, and it's definitely not the prettiest incubator you've ever seen. However, they function really, really well. They hold temperature incredibly well. The humidity adjustment aspect could use a little tweaking. Personally, I use a dry hatch method, so this doesn't really impact my hatch rates too much. I also purchased a govee thermometer and hydrometer to put inside of this incubator. Their smallest model fits in here really well. Overall, really good value for your dollar. ... show more

  • Keep the styrofoam & buy hygrometer
Size: M12 Style: 2.M12-Blue (Not Recommended)
The media could not be loaded. The good: - 100% hatch rate my first try - clear lid makes it easy to watch the hatching - turner works well (so far anyway, I just started my second dozen eggs) The bad: - very large chicken eggs barely fit & I had to alternate with smaller eggs - humidity control was hard. If the water attachment was on the little foam block as instructed, humidity was way too high days 1-17. During lockdown, the humidity was still too high, and the spikes in humidity when a chick hatches didn’t come back down quickly. I dealt with days 1-17 but not filling the water bottle above half and putting it on the counter without the foam block. During lockdown prior to hatch, I would lift the bottle for the amount of humidity I needed to add manually and then set it back down so it wouldn’t go too high. During hatching, I removed the water bottle to vent extra humidity, and still had to open the lid several times so the unhatched chicks wouldn’t drown. If you live in a more humid area, you could probably dry hatch and this wouldn’t be an issue. - temperature consistently was off by a couple of degrees and can only be adjusted in full degrees (98, 99, 100, etc). If you don’t use the styrofoam, it has a harder time maintaining the temperature. For my second batch of eggs, I added a small space heater so I can avoid using the styrofoam. I also put 2 hygrometers inside the dome so I can monitor things. The side where the water attaches is always slightly cooler and more humid than the opposite side. Overall, I’m ok with the extra work for the lower cost. ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations good for beginners
Size: M12 Pro Style: 7.M12 Pro-Yellow (Hatch Rate Upgrade)
Bought this after reading the reviews. So as long as I got two hatched I took the gamble. I also understand somtimes you get a lemonz it happens. So far, 8 out of 9 ducks have hatched with one currently pipping (April 2024). So I had over 75% successful hatch rate. This incubator has some learning curves. Highly suggest buying a decent hygrometer to assist though. The temp read out is a little off but it is do able once you figure out how off it is. I had no problem controlling humidity, but it was a learn as you go. Open the vent to let out some heat and humidity to boost I sprayed the the dooms sides to bring it up. It's not as simple as the nice fancy ones that's for sure. It's overall a good beginner incubator for those wanting to try or on a budget. Just need to learn with the machine. It is small once everyone hatches. Luckily mine hatched in batches. Planning to do turkeys next. ... show more
