Our Judo Mats are constructed with high-quality closed-cell foam with a slightly softer impact than our 1" MMA mats. Actually writing a review because my experience with these tiles has totally changed. As a background I have faux wood laminate flooring in my apartment, it's kind of slick on it's own, on a good day. If you use these tiles without anything additional on the type of flooring I have, they won't stay still. You'll attach them all and the whole thing will slip around. The flooring underneath them will also become slick. I tried everything up to oven cleaner to de-slick the tiles, nothing worked, the tiles are just a little slippery. Over time the foot traffic side feels less slippery but the underside and the floor underneath it is slick. What I first tried was a two sided removable tape to adhere the tiles to the floor. This kept the whole thing from slipping around but the tiles would make a "squick" noise when walking over the tiles. I personally hated this, the feeling of rubber on floor, "squick". If that sort of thing doesn't bother you, it's the cheap option. I finally bought something that's meant to stop rugs from slipping around and is a quarter inch thick with rubber on one side and a rough felt(?) material on the other. It was expensive but it holds everything in place with no noise. I had to buy a larger size and then cut it down with shears but was so worth it. On their own the tiles didn't work, but with the undertile flooring they're great. ... show more

    • EXACTLY What I Was Searching For!!

I converted my spare bedroom into a gym, and needed something to protect my brand-new laminate floor from my free weights and Total Gym machine. I did a lot of research, comparison, read countless reviews and shopped both local stores and Amazon before making a decision. I considered both treadmill mats and foam flooring. The biggest problem I kept running into was size - no product I found covered a large enough surface area to fit my needs (the Total Gym is narrow, but long, close to 96 inches when fully extended). Then I stumbled across the IncStores jumbo foam tiles. I was pleasantly surprised to discover they are sold in a set of 16 tiles, each 2x2 ft. THAT was enough to cover the area I needed it to. Other Pros: - Price. At $114 and change, this was a much more affordable option than other products I'd come across. Many treadmill mats and packages of other foam tiles I found on Amazon were close to the same price, but I would have had to buy two or more sets to get the same coverage. And the gym flooring that local retailers (Home Depot, Lowe's) were selling? Their prices were just outrageous ($500+). - Composition. I had read a lot of reviews of other products that described them as having a strong, unpleasant "rubber" odor. Some product descriptions did not specify "non-toxic" or "does not contain PVC." I have two little kittens who chew and scratch just about EVERYTHING, so a safe product containing no harmful chemicals was also a must. These mats met ALL of those criteria. I was still a little nervous about ordering them; I don't like buying anything because it seems like the only viable option, but I went for it anyway. The tiles arrived much faster than I anticipated, within four business days of my placing the order. They were a cinch to put together. The product name and description are spot-on: these tiles are very soft and comfortable. They have "give" to them, but they're not flimsy. The 7/8" thickness is accurate. I'm not a yoga or Pilates person, but I imagine they'd be ideal for that purpose. I do pushups, sit-ups and other pre- and post-run floor stretches on them. Because of their softness and thickness, they'd also make a great surface for a children's play area. The tiles did slide around a little bit on the laminate floor with nothing on them, but since I've gotten them weighted down with my Total Gym they haven't moved or come apart. I've only had the tiles for a couple of weeks, so I can't speak yet to how durable they'll be long-term. However, my kittens (who are NOT declawed) constantly run, jump, play and wrestle on them and so far there's not a single hint of a scratch or tear anywhere. Bonus: I like that they come in two different color combinations: black/gray or blue/red. I chose the blue/red. It makes for a slightly less institutional and more energizing look and feel in my gym - and makes it a place where I WANT to spend time. Overall, this product meets all of my needs. It was a bargain, appears to be of excellent quality, shipped quickly and reliably. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and would recommend these tiles to anyone. ... show more

The mats seem to be well made and fit together well. Plenty of edging pieces to do most any configuration. I had At least 10 edging pieces left over. I would purchase again if I every need more.

Love this mat - but so does my 8 year old cat. Jasper adores it! Best scratching mat ever He tears it up every day so I have black specks of the material all over. It breaks my heart to get rid of it - because he loves it. But alas I don't love the specs everywhere. So back to my old gym mat - does not cover as much area but is thinner and somehow claw-resistant. I would definitely buy this if you are hoping to cover a good area and need support for yourself that a simple gym mat does not provide. This one does. If not for Jasper clawing it up - I would be in love with it. I am finally giving it up after 5 months and going back to my original thinner mat. ... show more
