This loft bed is great if you have a small room with high ceilings. It does move quite a bit, however It does come with stabilizing equipment. I couldn’t imagine a 400lb individual on this bed without stabilizing it to the wall. My 13 year old loves the space below for his oversized beanbag. As other reviews noted, the rungs on the ladder are painful! No problem. We bought pool noodles, customized the fit……. Problem solved. I put it together in 2.5 hours. Screwing in the bolts were a challenge and consumed most of my time. They are in awkward spaces. Overall satisfied with purchase and would recommend for a teenager. ... show more

I'm 160 pounds and I feel safe with the bed mounted to the wall, no weird sounds or movements. only thing is the circular ladder is extremely painful for your feet when climbing, will need to find some kind of padding to go on the ladder

this bed was so insanely easy to put together. i built it by myself (except calling my mom in to hold one thing for a second) in less than two hours. the guard rails make me feel very secure and it isn’t too wobbly (it’ll be perfect once i stabilise it with the wall). i have overall great feelings about this bed! HOWEVER there are two complaints i have 1. the ladder rungs are circular and painful (i wear slippers to combat this) 2. it took a lot longer to get here than expected considering i paid $40 in shipping but i also understand that it’s from china and not a big deal i would recommend! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. PACKAGING: This bed is well packaged, and came in a relatively small box considering how large the final piece is. ASSEMBLY: Against my better judgment, but in the interest of time, I put this together by myself. It took about 3.5 hours total. The instructions were decent, but there were a couple pieces I had to redo because the diagram wasn't very clear on which way to turn the piece and I was in a hurry so I missed it until I tried to attach the next piece. Placing the slats underneath was a bear. The plastic squares that close up the openings to keep the slats in place were brutal on the fingers. I was afraid to use a hammer because I didn't want to break them, but they were so hard to lock into place I was nearly in tears. I tried starting from different angles and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Maybe wear gloves for that step? STURDINESS: This generally feels pretty sturdy. I love how many slats there are to support the mattress, so sagging should not be an issue. It does creak a bit and I'm slightly bummed by that. SIZE: I'm not sure if the mattress space is tighter than it should be or if the mattress I bought is slightly larger than it should be, but there is ZERO space to comfortably make the bed. The sheets are just kind of crammed into place. That is the most aggravating part of this bed, but again I'm not sure if it's the bed's fault or the mattress. COMFORT: As others have stated, the ladder rungs are very painful on a bare foot. After a couple weeks I decided to hack around that. (See video in this review) For $2 at Lowe's you can buy a foam pipe cover and cut it to size for each rung, and the bottom frame. I slid those over the rungs and they made a significant improvement in comfort, but felt dangerous because they spun around. So I grabbed double-sided grip tape used to keep area rugs in place, and cut into the appropriate size strips and placed them under the foam on each rung. Problem solved! I put this loft bed together quickly with one other adult and pre-teen and the directions seemed easy to follow. There were a few extra pieces for bolts/screws/washers. It is fairly shaky/wobbly as you’re climbing up and also if you move around while you’re up there (I’m a 5’6”, 150 lbs. female), but it doesn’t feel unsafe or that it can’t hold my weight. Once I’m laying down it’s fine, though I can feel the bed shake a little at my cats jump off of it onto their nearby cat tree. Aside from the shakiness, my only other complaint is that the ladder bars are too small. I have tiny feet (size 6.5) and for the brief time going up and especially down the ladder is uncomfortable with how small the diameter is of the bars. I’m glad I positioned my dresser next to the foot of the bed so I can use that as a platform. I didn’t read the description thoroughly about what thickness mattress it recommends (6”) and got a 12” mattress which is level with the rails - I get why they don’t recommend that, but I’m not worried about rolling off, and I prefer having a level platform when climbing down. I feel like I’d scrape or hurt myself trying to climb over the rails going down. On the plus side, I can comfortably fit my work station underneath. ... show more

I have a tiny studio apartment. This loft bed is a great space-saver for me, but it is quite wobbly. As a 200lb 5’11” male adult, I noticed the wobbly structure more. The ladder rungs are also quite uncomfortable on the feet. Overall, I am happy with the bed as it serves its purpose of saving space, but the wobbly structure and uncomfortable ladder rungs are downsides. ... show more

It is slightly wobbly, but not in a way where it feels unsafe. The process of putting it together was simple and easy to understand. It took me about 3 hours to do by myself, but I recommend getting help with the setup. Overall, great product!
