  • One of the best controllers I've had
Size: 49 keys
First off, I've barely begun to use this controller keyboard, but already I can tell it's going to be my fave of all I've ever had. After the Akai mpc mini broke after little more than a year I found myself in the market yet again (shying away from akai. Found Nektar - impressed - bought it (the 49 key version) I must say the level of control on this monster is amazing - while I don't own all the apps they support - I can say it controls Cubase 14, Live 12, Reason 13 flawlessly. I haven't even begun to work with my NKS plug-ins. Can't wait to test those. Once set up properly in your DAW (which will take a minute or two - not the easiest to do - but the rewards are fantastic) you won't mind the extra legwork. In a nutshell, you have 2 modes selectable via buttons on the LX (Instrument and Mixer) Press Mixer Mode and you'll be controlling the faders as you see fit (you can assign the faders via MIDI learn) You can also control aspects of the DAW via the "drum pad triggers" (i.e. cycle through tracks, play, record, etc. . . ) automatically. Instrument mode allows you to trigger MIDI notes and play your softsynth, drum soft, etc . . . again with almost any DAW you'll have the ability to assign any knob, lever, button to control they synth as you see fit. Like I said, once you get it set correctly in your DAW MOST of the tedious tasks of assigning controllers is already done for you. It's a matter of fine tuning and adding controls. Construction: Keys are full size - not mini like the akai. Full size as seen on the Oxygen controllers. However, the keys feel solid. I actually like the action better than my physical synths which cost gobs more. BIG NOTE - no aftertouch - if this is an issue for you it might be a minus point. It's not that big for me, but I missed that part when researching new controllers - nice to have but not a game changer. Afterall, I have synths to do that for me. The overall feel of the instrument/controller is solid. Doesn't feel like cheap plastic that will break. Buttons, knobs, sliders do not feel cheap! Overall, it may be a bit pricey compared to Oxygen or Akai - but they're constructed better and feel solid. I may even go for the 88key controller as I don't have one for playing. . . ... show more

  • Great Daw controller at unbeatable price!!!
Size: 88 keys
This a pro level keyboard. It’s doing great controlling my daw (Studio one). Not weighted keys, but they feel heavy enough and expressive. Impact LX now a great addition to my recording studio at an unbeatable price!…Well done Nektar!

  • 👍🎼🎹 Nice NEW Keybed BUT!!! 🪗💯💪
Size: 88 keys
Already 2 issues with the new Nektar Impact LX88 mk3. First one bought new from amazon had a spare screw still flying around freely inside the unit (this could lead to future issues with the transistors in the way). Second one I bought from Sweetwater hoping for a clean one, however, it loses midi signals every 3 minutes (talked to tech support from Sweetwater and we came to a conclusion that the board is defective. I know you would probably suggest the easy route (return and get a new one)....At this point, I gave up on the mk3 version, and am going to find a used LX88+ (this is your best controller in my opinion). Even though the kedbed is nice and different on the new version mk3, but after 2 defects, I ran out of patience! I'm a big fan of the LX88+ (last version) - I feel like there was more heart + soul put into the design + overall functions, the red LED is authentic, even the built quality is better on the LX88+ - the strangest thing is that based on its age of the same exact model of the LX88+, the keybed feels slightly different, I bought a used one last night, and the keybed is nice + mushy (keybed feels almost like the new mk3 version, and I loved that it is more mushy and quiet, so I'm gonna keep buying a few used versions of the LX88+ (best controller for semi-weighted in my opinion) from the used market on Marketplace, Offerup, Craigslist, Ebay, Reverb, etc! The new version mk3 is questionable to me at this moment, sadly! I hope you take this constructive criticism into future conversations with your team and improve the upcoming products, LX88 mk4! should bring back the old red screen, basically the entire design should be considered (LX88+ design is my favorite) I don't mind paying extra for what I desire! LX88+ rules! Thank you! ... show more

  • I can't believe how much I love this keyboard
Size: 88 keys
I'm so pleased I chose to buy this keyboard. I bought the 88-key version, and I'm very impressed by the quality of the build and the feel of the keys. The semi-weighted keys have a nice solid action and they feel like a real piano, and the velocity sensing works well. Very expressive. You can adjust the internal velocity curve, but the default works well for me. This keyboard feels sturdy and made to last. I'm a beginning player, so I've been pounding on mine for hours a day for a few weeks, and it still feels like it's brand new. I haven't played much with the few dozen MIDI CC's and pads yet, but I love the possibilities they offer. ... show more

  • I am impressed!
Size: 49 keys
THIS ONE IS A GOOD CHOICE! Cheaper than most other brands, but the quality isn't lacking one bit.. I have arturia, m audio and and nektar. This one is up there with the all of them. The keys feel great and they aren't clacky unlike the lx+ versions. Quiet, solid and direct feel. Design is great, and it fits everywhere nicely. I might also get a 61 key eventually. It's easy to use if you know what you're doing on midi keyboards and DAWS. ... show more
