  • Not worth buying.
I purchased this set because I have a 17mm bolt on my vehicle with a rounded head so I wanted to use this to get out the bolt. I used the 17mm socket from this set to try and get this bolt out but unfortunately instead of biting onto the bolt head it started to shear of the tips of the inside of the socket. Obviously not made of sturdy metal... I have processed a return of this set. I got what I paid for I guess... I was hoping an inexpensive set would work, but nope. ... show more

  • Work perfect
These sockets work. They have worked perfect for my needs. When you read reviews that these sockets break, yes they do. Because they rarely slip and if you have frozen mounting bolts or any bolt that is seized these sockets could break because they won't slip. You will split these sockets or any socket that doesn't slip off a frozen fastener if you put an excessive amount of torque on the socket. Reviews that say socket broke the first time they used it maybe because the fastener was frozen and they exceeded the amount of force sockets are capable to withstand. Those who claimed the socket teeth stripped the first time are not locking the socket onto the bolt head manually before applying an impact gun. Many bolts and nuts are stripped or rounded because the fastener is seized, that is why we use these sockets. And if the fastener does not break loose the socket will have to crack under undo force because they again, rarely slip and you can put too much force on the socket. You will usually read that it was a 14 mm socket or larger that broke. That is because you are talking about 3/8" or larger bolts probably longer then 1 inch and they are stronger then the socket if they are seized up in say an aluminum housing or bracket. I am a mechanic of over forty years and I have a great deal of experience with frozen fasteners. These sockets have not failed me when it is still possible to turn a stripped bolt head or nut that is not seized. ... show more

  • Worked when I needed it
Bought this specifically to remove a damaged lugnut. Worked perfectly and will likely sit in my garage for many years never to be used again, i hope.

  • Happy Day, it worked!
Took the car to the dealership for an oil change and they must have reinstalled the drain plug with an impact gun. Tried multiple sockets, wrenches and vice grips, to remove the drain plug. It wouldn't budge, and I only rounded the nut, badly. I thought I was going to have to grind and drill out the old plug. I stumbled across a YT video of these and decided to give them a try. I hammered the 13mm extractor on to the drain plug and slipped a 2.5ft pipe over my ratchet wrench for added leverage, and I just knew it either was round the bolt even more, or the extractor was going to fail. To my delight, it gripped the bolt, and it broke free! It worked as described and no damage to the extractor socket. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. ... show more

  • Amazed. Worked first try
What can I say. It worked instantly. I was skeptical…mostly because of the location of the bolt, I didn’t think I’d be able to get ela good bite on it. But, I was able to tap it a bit onto the rounded bolt. Put my flex head ratchet on it, and to my amazement it broke loose. Heat shield Bolt at the exhaust manifold….down low. Hard to get at. Anyhow….did exactly what it needed to do. Great value fir the money. ... show more

  • A life saver.
This Bolt remover/extractor saved the day. I was changing my rotors and pads that day and they sent me the wrong rotors for the rear. I broke one of the bolts. Luckily the broken bolt left enough material so it can be removed effortlessly.

  • Didn't need my impact gun!
Where was this product 2 weeks ago?? ha Been trying to remove a ton of 46yo rusted screws and bolts from a 46yo vehicle, with channel locks, heat, drilling out, easy outs, you name it. My hands are toast! Connected a 3/8" ratchet to these, 1 second, bolts and screws were loose.
