    • Inaccurate Thermometer, but GREAT heating device!
I used this to warm a 12' x 36" above ground pool from feeling like ice. It took three days, but the water was swimmable. Another thing I noticed was that there was a basic 10 degree difference between my floating thermometer and the electronic unit that came with the heater... my floating thermometer was 10 degrees lower AND more accurate. ... show more

It works, but SUPER slowly. Idk what these other people are talking about lol I tried it to heat my bathtub with ALREADY warm ish water.... 4 hours later, heater still in, not nearly as hot as others are claiming.... It's hot like what a child would appreciate. I did not go from ice cold to hot, I did lukewarm water to trying to get it hot! If that's your purpose, this is not the item for you! It works, just not as they say! Think like 90°F water. Tops. I wanted to have heat in my bath and was dissatisfied because they advertise boiling water in the photo. The media could not be loaded. My hot water heater went out and needed a way to warm water until it got replaced so I could give my kids a warm bath. This heater does a great job at heating water, I heated 7 gallons of cold tap water to whatever temperature is slightly too warm for showering in about 25 minutes. The thermometer however leaves much to be desired as it actually displayed a temp 1 degree lower then prior to inserting the heater into the water and since the instructions (as well as everything I've ever been told) caution against placing your hand into a container of water while there's something else in there that is plugged into an electrical outlet looking for steam rising from the container is really the only way to know when the water is hot enough. ... show more

This worked a lot better than I expected considering the price of it and others, is good quality, and I would purchase again - Be sure to read the safety instructions in detail, especially if using around kids. Bought to help warm up our pool - 10 ft x 30in. May get another one down the road to be able to do 2 buckets at a time. Best method was to fill the 5 gallon bucket with water from the pool, heat up the bucket, dump back in, and repeat. After about 30 mins in the bucket, the water was steaming and possibly on the verge of boiling but not there yet so the 20 min claim is a little off. I could see this coming in handy if you have little kids and a camping trailer with a small hot water tank - could be cool to have to use to warm up the bath water if not enough in the tank - again, just be sure to read the SAFETY instructions. ... show more

Early days, but heres a review for what its worth. I have a plug and play 200 gallon hot tub that heats at around 2 degrees an hour once drained and filled again. I bought this to speed up the process. I made sure to use a heavy gauge extension cable (1875w's) and also checked to make sure I wasn't plugging it in on the same circuit. This is pulling 2000w's so dont use a cheap cord. In short, I went from heating at 2 degrees and hour to 5 degrees. Thats what I used to get with a 220v Hot tub. When the box arrives, skepticism is natural as the instructions and labeling were clearly written by someone with very little knowledge of English. But, dont let that put you off. For the cost, its a good item. But, I've only used it once. ... show more

I’ve been using this to heat my hot tub instead of running the pump all the time. It heats better than the pump and uses less energy. It works so well It actually makes the water too hot! That’s with over 250 gallons so I imagine for a bucket or trough this will be amazing. Well worth the money.
