No built in temp control so make sure you are directly watching what it is heating. Outside with a wind chill this could barely keep up but it took a barrel of 55 gallons of water at 32F to 65F in about 7 hours with it being 9F outside with 15-20mph winds.

I like that it came with a digital thermometer. It raises the temperature of water in a 5 gallon bucket fairly quickly. I once forgot and wandered off and came back to 180 degree water! Room temperature to shower temperature is around 10-20 minutes depending upon how hot you like your shower and how cold the water was to start with. Remember to put it in the water before plugging it in, and unplug it before removing it from the water. ... show more

My pipes froze this winter and I resorted to boiling pots of water to make bath and dish water. It took hours of effort. This little device saved me a lot of trouble , wish I’d found it sooner. Only con, it uses ALOT of energy. Anything else plugged into the socket and it will blow the fuses in your circuit breaker. It has to be used alone with any wall socket. It would probably work if you want to heat a bucket of water up to a little kid pool. I have a round 10ft by 3ft pool and it can’t heat it up above 60deg. The pool is under a covered patio and its 80+ degrees outside. It work well the first 2-3 days I used it. It warmed the pool up to 72deg. Now it is struggling. I tried cleaning the heating coils, but still not doing it’s job. ... show more
