*Update* Seller contacted me promptly and Offered to replace or refund. They were very responsive and quick to resolve so I added a star for that. I bought 2 and they did a great job heating but I had to unplug it every couple of hours because the cord gets so hot I was afraid it was going to start a fire. One has already quit working and I'm down to 1. Total use time was about 4 days. *Both have quit working as of today. ... show more

This heater heated 4-5 gallons of water from 59 F to 146 F in 35 minutes at around 60 F ambient temperature. This feels a bit slower than the advertised speed, though the product description did not give exact times. -1 star for falsely advertising this as a 2000W heater. It is a 1500W heater as measured with an electricity consumption meter. I did not experience any obvious safety issues while using this, but be sure to follow the directions and ensure the heater is completely submerged. Also pay attention to the kind of container, as the heater may touch the bottom and cause damage to the container. ... show more

This thing somehow caught my bathtub on fire! I used it a few times just fine- it would heat my bath water in about 15 min. Last night, within little time something went very wrong! Now my tub is melted from BIG fire and my house full of soot! It could have burned my house down!

So far so good. This 2000W immersion heater is doing a good job of heating the circulating rinse water in my portable darkroom. I've also used it to heat up water in a small backyard swimming pool. The 2000 watts helps to heat things up faster than smaller wattage heaters but they all take a while. None of them are quick. ... show more
