I was looking for an affordable easy way to keep my parts washer fluid from freezing. I thought this might be a good option to plug in for an hour everyday, holy shheeettt was I wrong...... It says it heats 5 gallons in a few minutes, so i figured the 30 gallon tank would be fine for an hour, I was sorely mistaken.... 1 hour was wayyyyyyyyyy to long, The water got to 194' (per their included temp sensor) within that hour, and filled my garage with steam from the parts washer fluid boiling off. These generally get used for livestock water...... why in the heck would you ever need water that hot for your animals? it says 2000w, which is understandable to heat the water quickly, but I assumed it would keep the water at a more moderate temp for drinking, and simply just to keep it from freezing, not to get it within 18 degrees of boiling in less than an hour.... Overall i gave it 4 stars because it does exactly what it claims, but as an affordable way to keep your parts washer from freezing....... thats a 0 stars rating.

This is an awesome emergency water heater kit. If for any reason you need hot water, this is a great option. It comes with everything, ready to go. The heater, a thermometer and even a scrubber to keep the scale off of it. Just drop it in the bucket, make sure it's fully submerged, and plug it in. Just minutes till you have a bucket of hot water. Really works on even large amounts of water, just takes longer. Pretty much a hot water tank element on the end of a plug. Great idea, works exactly as intended. Should last quite a while, with proper maintenance. Overall, it is a great product, great price, does exactly what it is supposed to, and fast. Highly recommended. Just be careful, don't burn yourself.

This works exactly as the I would expect it to go. Used it for a larger bucket of water and the time frame that it predicted for it to get hot was pretty close. Realistically I should probably use 2 heaters but it worked well enough. There was no damage to the bucket when it accidentally played on the bottom. This is easy to recommend since it just works perfectly.

Many immersion heaters sold in retail stores have an emergency power cut-off if it gets too hot or senses a lack of water. This one does not. Potential result: fire. The laughable poorly translated instructions on the box and the safety sheet mention the word "fire" so many times that I'll be using it rarely and watching it like a hawk when I do. This is something you should not cheap-out on. Even if it comes slightly out of the water, it could cause a fire: "The stainless steel heating tube must be completely in water to dissipate heat, otherwise it will be burnt out." The instructions say this unit will take 20-25 minutes to heat 5 gallons of water to 104F. 30 gallons: up to 3 hours. As for price, a quick Google search shows a myriad of these same units under different non-pronounceable Chinese "brands" starting at $12. And there is effectively no domestic warranty beyond Amazon's return period. My rating system: 5 Stars = Knocks it out of the park. A great value! 4 Stars = Excellent product. A solid buy. 3 Stars = It provides some value, but perhaps not as advertised. 2 Stars = A little dubious, so do your research. Read the critical reviews! 1 Star = Avoid this product and look elsewhere.

This is a basic immersion heater. It heats the water pretty quickly, depending on the the temperature of water and the amount of water that you are trying to heat. There is no on/off switch and no automatic shutoff, so you will have to keep a close eye on it so you do not overheat the water. It does a use a lot of power, so be careful when using. Do not attempt to use anything else while using heater because you will probably blow out a fuse/breaker. I heated 30 gallon bucket of water within 10 minutes it reached desired temperature. I have other immersion heaters, which are more costly and have thermal overload, built in temperature control, etc. that take a lot more time to reach desired temperature. This heater is about a 1/3rd of the cost of those heaters and works so much faster! I would recommend this to keep on hand for emergency situations. However, I have had a few of these "standard" immersion heaters, and while the price point is a great value, in my heat (if using daily) they burn out quickly. I will update review in a couple of months to advise if this heater is still functioning.

This immersion water heater works great. It feels pretty well made a durable enough to last a while under normal wear and tear conditions. I got this heater to go along with a portable shower kit I got and this immersion heater heated up water in a 5 gallon bucket for a "warm enough" shower. It's simple to use as long as you use common sense. It took about 45 minutes to an hour to heat about 5 gallons so it was warm enough to shower with. Obviously, this isn't going to boil water but it's still handy and better then taking an ice cold shower. You can use this heater for a bunch of different things too so it's pretty versatile. I don't think the digital temperature thermometer is very accurate though but that's not a deal breaker I plan on getting alot of use out of this once the weather warms up again so I'll update the review if I feel there's anything important to add. The price is pretty reasonable for this water heater and I think it's worth considering if you have a need for one.
