Over the past few years, I've probably tried every roast produced by another well-known brand of espresso from Italy, but was never fully satisfied with what came out of my mocka pots. I thought I might give another brand a try, and I'll never go back. I've tried quite a few blends promising hints of a cocoa flavor that I've never been able to discern. illy's Intenso makes that promise and delivers. It's really just a hint that goes so well with this bold espresso. Amazon is having me rate the "drip" version I've never used. I've bought the grind for espresso machines and moka pots. They also have Intenso whole beans and pods. I really look forward to starting my day savoring a cappuccino made with this amazing blend. illy also makes Forte, a blend that's supposed to be even stronger than Intenso, and I've tried it, but it doesn't have the subtle additional flavors. If you get the ground version it works best as a drip. The texture is a bit fine for a French press, but can be done if you use filter and let it drip instead. I have a coffee grinder so will probably switch to whole bean. I discovered this coffee on a trip to Italy and it was too good to not continue to buy. ... show more

Wow!!!I do believe I finally found my perfect coffee. Awesome bold strong but not so strong it taste bitter taste. Takes less coffee I really have nothing but plus words. Comes in a gas-pressurized can. So when you pop that top aroma like you've never experienced. A little pricey but I don't believe that will be holding me back. ... show more

this is the worst coffee I've ever had. It is sooooo bitter and you can't use it on a French Press. It is not coarsly grounded. I read reviews, as I always do, before I buy something. One of the reviews stated that this coffee is not bitter, IT IS BITTER. Don't waste your money on it.

Its good coffee, it has great flavor. I almost took one star off for the packaging...but decided the coffee is too good to do that! The edge of the tin sliced the top of my thumb when it got lower in the can. That edge is VERY sharp!!! Use a long spoon or scoop when it gets lower.

Illy in general is the best coffee I've ever tasted. This particular derivitive is dark and bold, the way I prefer. They have one darker, which is just too much for me. And several lighter which aren't nearly enough. But if you prefer and good, strong, dark, rich, flavorful cup of coffee, this one hits on every cylinder. ... show more

Was looking for ground coffee that would work well in a French press & refillable K-cups. I prefer deep & dark roasts, partly because it reduces the acidic content (the darker the roast the less acidic coffee is).

I LOVE this coffee! Perfect for my French press! Bold rich flavor. Disappointed it came without a lid this time! I like keeping it in the can....could not find a way to contact anyone about this so I'm writing a review. I just wanted a lid sent to me.
