I've been holding off on this review, because I don't know what to say about the product itself! In summary, this is meant to be able to replace the default analog sticks for a PS5; specifically, four sticks, or two complete replacements. The package comes, as indicated, with everything you'll need, from screwdrivers and plastic spudgers to screws, and of course the analog stick bits themselves. In this case, they're supposed to be Hall-Effect sensor sticks, which is a significant improvement over the OG analog hardware (which is closer to a rheostat or something like that, and can wear down). But... I wouldn't know the difference! Once you install these, which is pretty straightforward (unscrew, pry apart, remove, replace, reverse operation, etc. - and all the instructions are available online in 1000 YouTube videos!), you end up... with exactly the same setup, but "better." Is it better? I mean, obviously - Hall Effect won't suffer from stick drift (where an unused analog stick sends signals that's it's being toggled when it's not). But PERSONALLY, I've never had this problem. Maybe I just don't put the hours into the controllers to get them to fail, or maybe I've just been lucky, but I've never had the need for a replacement. So while these work perfectly to replace the original, and improve upon them, I have no need for them. I won't penalize them in the rating for that, since YOU might need them! As far as things go, they work identically, and seem robust enough - but again, I might not be particularly hard on my controllers, and it might take more than 2 months or so for problems to show up! More than anything, the package provided is neat, organized, and thoughtful. I appreciate the way the tools provided are exactly what you'll need, not requiring you to hunt through a toolbox for this or that, or head to a hardware store for some random m2 screw or something. It's tidy, efficient, easy to use (heck, I can do it, so you can too!), and appears durable and well-made. Should you buy this? Probably not, in my opinion - unless you suffer from stick-drift already, or are concerned about that in the future. If so, 100%, absolutely yes, buy this. If not, at least personally, I'd probably wait - and remember, the alternative you'll probably consider isn't NOT getting these, it's more likely to be something like getting a 3rd party PS controller already kitted out with HE or TMR sticks, and that's a whole other review!

Great replacement joy cons for my controllers, took a bit of practice but i managed to install and solder these on, and get them calibrated within a few hours. I can now say goodbye to stick drift and hang onto my controllers for a while longer.

Stick drift seems to happen to every PS5 controller eventually, no matter how gently you use them. Replacing the joysticks is a much more affordable choice than buying a whole new controller. This set seems to have everything but instructions. The tools included are nice enough to keep and use after installation, which is much appreciated. The joystick plastic seems flimsy but once installed seem solid. They include optional joystick covers, but oddly only two when four joystick replacements are included; however I never use pads like that so no loss. The biggest issue is the lack of instructions, or even a note saying where to download or view online instructions. Installing these is a daunting task for anyone new to controller repair. Fortunately there are videos online to be found that step you through the process, and it isn't as hard as it looks. So far the replacement joysticks work without any stick drift, and my controller is usable again!

Everything came well packaged and clearly labeled. The tools provided work well- the blue pry tool allowed me to easily separate the front and back plate of the controller without damaging the plastic. The tweezers allowed me to disconnect the ribbons as they are tiny and much too little for just my fingers. The metal pry tool worried me, so I didn't use it other than to gently push the connectors back together before sealing the controller back up. The replacement pieces are very nearly identical to the original pieces. The extra screws are a nice touch, as they are so small that it is easy to drop/lose them when working on the controller. Unfortunately, I was unable to use the actual internal joystick pieces as the originals are soldered to the controller motherboard. This kit doesn't have anything to remove the old or solder the new back on, so I didn't have everything needed to complete the repair. This is my own fault, but I would caution that others should watch a full repair video before ordering. As long as you understand the repair, this is a really nice kit and the components seem to be as close to OEM as you will find. I did replace the black joystick part, which helped the drift a tad anyways.
