This is the best lunch box I can find on here. It has the side button you push in to open and close the lid and that design I hope they never change because it is now hard to find the side button design in the past 10-15 years. They have changed the design to the easy push button on the handle up on top (reason was because it was supper easy and effortless to open and close the lid) and I swear to god that is the stupidest idea they have ever come up with. Every single time the top handle push down button would always open on its own and dump everything out of the lunch box. Every single time, it is so frustrating, here is the story. Growing up, my dad always had a lunch box to bring to work, he always worked at physically demanding jobs and needed a lunch box this size on a daily basis. 20 years ago he has a lunch box just like this one with the side button and he used that lunch box everyday for 20 years until finally it became so old and used and dirty with scuffs and scratches and started to chip, so after that long of having it he decided to get a new one and the only one he could find was the one with the top push down handle button one and for over 7 years he has had to suffer with that stupid design that always failed and opened when he didn't want it to and the clip broke that held it closed in the first month. Now I found this AMAZING DESIGN again finally and my boyfriend also needs a lunch box for work so I bought both my dad and my boyfriend this lunch box and my dad was so happy that I got him the lunch box design that he remembers and used for 20 years and immediately threw the other one away and I have this one my wish list to order again because I hope this doesn't go away! I hate when they change a design that works so well and make it worse, like don't reinvent the wheel to a square you idiot. Just got this. So I haven’t lugged it around yet. However, I wanted to share that this is a very nice buy. Has plenty of room, nice construction and doesn’t weigh a ton just by itself. Mine did not come with “the boss” or “big boss” or w/e... but I didn’t care if it had that any way. It’s big enough to fit enough drinks, food and snacks for when I’m out on the road driving my truck which I do 6/7 days a week. Take a look at the pics. ... show more

I bought this for my son who's working outside doing construction in the hot Missouri summers. So far it's working out great for him. I liked that the lid just slides and doesn't come off completely because he lost the lid to his last cooler, it came off and out of the back of the truck because he forgot to lift the handle and lock it on. This cooler works great for someone working outside without access to a refrigerator. He takes a Igloo Sport water jug (ASIN# B00JHSLPH8) with him but by midday it's empty and this cooler keeps his extra water nice and cold all day and sometimes that's up to 12 hours. If you're just carrying water you can get at least eight 16.9 ounce bottles in the cooler. My son usually packs four 16.9 ounce bottles of water, two 32 ounce bottles of Powerade plus his lunch in the cooler and there's still room for ice. I also purchased several Igloo Maxcold Medium Ice Blocks to go in the cooler (ASIN# B00CWL3MM8) and four fit almost perfect one on each side of the cooler, we also add a bit of ice over the top of everything once the cooler is completely packed for the day. If you're looking for a cooler that's big enough to hold food and drinks for a full day of outside work this would be a good option, if you just need something to hold a couple drinks plus your lunch I'd go with the smaller 7 quart option (ASIN# B000695WL2) or even the mini option (ASIN# B000R1PE30). Had the cooler less than a month - nice cooler - except for the unsecure locking mechanism. The parts got lost and I've been trying for weeks to buy a new button/spring but Igloo has been SOLD OUT the entire time. Maybe if they designed these better they wouldn't run out of repair parts! Update: After 6 weeks of waiting, Igloo finally restocked. Even so, it took 10 days from order to delivery by U.S. mail to a major city! Thank you card enclosed with the parts said to call if you didn't have a satisfactory experience. I called - waste of time! Their customer service guy couldn't have cared less. ... show more

Awesome product, just what I was looking for. The only problem is that the factory could have done a better job of knocking down the plastic seams that form between the injection molds. They are sharp and uncomfortable on the handle; I had to take a knife to them to cut them flat.

This is the second one of these I've purchased. The first one we had about 2 years before the little button on the side broke. I bought this one for fathers day for my husband, he took it on a fishing trip last weekend and it broke right away, filled it with ice and drinks closed the lid and the button broke. He didn't even get to take it, very annoyed! We've always bought igloo coolers, for years, its sad that like other products these days price goes up and quality is going down. ... show more
