Gave this to my husband as a Christmas gift. He wanted one for his new bookshelf in his office. Comes with a lot of little accessories which was nice. The little tea light rock and tree are cute. Our tree showed up looking a bit nicer than the one pictured. To keep the garden more “zen” I don’t recommend using every single accessory, less is definitely more and with all the accessories you have quite a bit of choice on what to use. The sand is somewhat fine, almost like that of table salt. The tools are cheap and in combination with the sand texture you can’t get/keep a really nice raked pattern in the sand as the sand kind of rolls off itself when you try to pull it around. The tray that everything goes into is a thick black plastic that feels like a quality piece of plastic. All in all it’s a nice set for what you pay. You get quite a bit of items for it. I think I’d like to get some sort of natural shaped pan/tray to hold the sand in the future.

This is something you purchase as a gift that you also want for yourself. I have several Zen Gardens and this is my new favorite. Truly a beautiful piece that fits perfectly in any decor - home, office, apartment, dorm room... It is complete with everything you need to design your own unique landscape including tools to shape the sand and delicately re-arrange each piece to fit your current mood. As a meditation tool the Zen Garden will add a new dimension to your practice. As a brief escape from your current reality, it is essential. You can also simply enjoy beauty and mystery of your personal Zen space at any time to calm your spirit and relax your mind. Add this to your life and feel the positive effects. I would recommend this most highly!!

I wanted a Zen Garden and I thought this was a nice start. The only problem was, there was no Pebble Candle Holder sent with it. I thought maybe I would just buy one separately instead of going through the hassle of sending the whole garden back, but the candle holder alone was $15.99. Not worth it. I have put in a return, I have a few days to think about it. I was really disappointed.
