  • Low power draw keeps food cold!
So just returned from a 14 day camping trip and I have to say why I waited so long to buy one of these I don’t know. The quality is rugged, as we moved it around often. The controls are easy to use. There are only a few settings to understand. Power on or off, max or eco setting and the temp up or down. Other than the original cool down I only used the eco setting. This usually drew 30-40 watts when it was running. That was good because the bag and cooler insulation was good so it didn’t run all the time. I have a Tundra truck and in the bed is a DC outlet. I mostly had it plugged in there while driving and sitting in the back of my truck through 80-100 degree temps it stayed cold. When I wasn’t driving I had it plugged mostly into a Bluetti 268wh external battery. That usually lasted all day, then would need a recharge. I have sent that back and opted for a Eco flow 768wh pack to get three days worth of run time. Otherwise I had it plugged into AC in my pop up trailer. So now for the drawbacks. We often froze food we wanted cold. The temp range from bottom to top could be 6-12 degrees. And even warmer in the little side pocket. I ended up figuring out that veggies and condiments can go in the grey side spot and on top. It does require some constant shuffling of stuff. Once we got the hang of it everything was kept pretty well where we needed. I ended up buying a battery thermometer to leave inside(see pics) it was around 25$ here on Amazon I think. That allowed me to keep the monitor nearby or in cab of truck and the sensor in the cooler. The unit hilt i. thermometer I believe must be on bottom of cooler? The temp pics show difference between thermometer and actual ready out from different parts of the cooler. The 27 degree vs 45 was in the side compartment, the 27 degree vs 39 was at top of basket in main. All in 81 degree house. The last picture shows wattage draw on the Bluetti. In conclusion: the high quality compressor, rugged design and low wattage needed to run the unit makes this a sold buy product. I would rate it 4.5/5 stars, for the temperature inconsistency but since I can’t I left it 5 stars. I went through 10 bags of ice in my yeti during the same time. At 4.99$ per bag that’s already $50 I saved towards the cost of the unit. ... show more

  • The internal volume is maybe 20 liters, not 40
Size: JP40 with Cover
It matches the previous reviews and working fast, quiet and with low power usage. But the 40 liters is for the volume of the whole thing not internal volume for foods. The internal size is about 20 liters.

  • Better than ice but not perfect
I purchased the JP50 in November 2022. We've used it on several family road trips over the last 6 months. Like many others have said, you need to know that there is a significant temperature variation between the bottom and top of the refrigerator. I use a separate thermometer, and typically I need to set the refrigerator around 30F to keep the middle and upper area around 36F. It'll swing from 28F - 38F. For drinks it's not a big deal, but for storing meat/chicken and other foods that can spoil, it's important to keep it at a food safe temperature. I have a 1000Whr Jackery Portable Power Station and I can run this refrigerator for easily 72+ hours before getting to under 15% battery life on the Jackery (when using the DC plug ) Pros: Super quiet, very low power draw (5W at idle to ~60W when compressor is running in max mode), works on DC & AC, came with an insulated cover, don't have to deal with ice! Cons: Handles are flimsy, temperature variation in main compartment, wish the rear small compartment was also refrigerated, it's usually about 10-15F higher than the main compartment. Disappointingly after 7 months, the refrigerator no longer worked on AC power, but still did on DC. After contacting ICECO, they had me try a few things like replacing the AC fuse, trying a different AC cable, and confirming our AC line voltage is not too high. After going through those steps, they agreed to send out a new one. ... show more

  • Great Customer service!
Size: JP30 with Cover
First unit would barely get cold. They sent me a replacement and a return label quickly. Used it for 7 days straight. The temp was never consistent. Either frozen or Luke warm. I had it running next to my Dometic and the Dometic was rock solid consistent. I know this is not at Dometic price but it's half way there so I don't believe it is a good value for its quality and performance. I would rather just buy the cheaper brand or pony up and get another dometic. I thought this being at a higher price meant it was a higher quality unit. I was wrong. At least if you have a problem, the customer service was fast and very helpful. ... show more

  • Lid latch breaks easily!
I rarely write reviews, but the plastic lid latch on the broke on our first outing with the fridge. This is apparently a common issue as there are many other complaints of this latch breaking online, and they are typically out of stock on replacements you have to purchase. The plastic hinge clips should be metal (or a stronger plastic) for durability. The fridge itself is great, cools everything inside easily and is relatively quiet. We ran an extra marine battery (deep cycle) that would run the fridge, CPAP, a small fan and lights overnight without issue. Now we need to apprantly purchase a lid latch, as the lid does not seal properly without it. ... show more

  • Lots of room
Size: JP30 with Cover
We went for a 5 day trip and the fridge in our RV was out of commission. We bought the Iceco as a back-up fridge and was impressed at how much we could fit in there! Definitely worth the purchase!

  • Excellent refrigerator with new advanced features but!
I was very impressed with this freezers features. The operating controls are very easy to use and are up in plain sight on the lid. The only problem I had was the door opens lengthwise so you need over 40 inches from the base to the roof in order to open the freezer enough to have the door stay open and to remove the baskets. In my jeep, I was not able to do that, and decided to go with the VL45 model which is a little shorter height and uses a shorter length door. There is a great video on the product info that covers this very well. View it to see which one works for you. ICECO builds great products. ... show more
