The containers are sturdier than I had expected. The base is nice , you can tell it's not cheap plastic. The lips are flexible and seem to have a tight fit. I'll be putting them to the test very soon.

I have another set of silicone container and lid ice cream containers, and I leaped at a chance to get a second set. When I opened it, I was very surprised that only the lids are silicone. There is even a reference on the Amazon page to 'these silicone containers', which makes me think the omission that the containers themselves are not silicone is deliberate. That being said, they ARE very good containers. I would not have ordered them if I had known they weren't silicone, but I am keeping them and think they will serve nicely. The base plastic is thick and sturdy and somewhat flexible, and the silicone lids fit nicely. Expanding ice cream should store well in these containers. They are a full quart in size, larger than most ice cream storage containers. A bit pricey for not being all silicone, but a better than average containers. I would have probably rated them 5 stars except for the misleading advertising. If they hold up better than average, I will come back and update this review. If you don't mind the plastic base, I can recommend you give this one a try!

Not a lot to say here, but I was really impressed by these! The containers are solid plastic, heavy-looking but actually quite light-weight. You expect them to be heavier than they actually are when you pick them up. They have a great brushed texture on the outside (they are smooth plastic on the inside). I subjected one of them to quite a few knocks and drops and it didn't show any signs of cracking or damage at all, so you can use them with confidence that they will be extremely sturdy. And no matter how big you think these are, they're actually a bit bigger. They're of a good, impressive size. The lids likewise are of excellent quality with a good seal. They're not air-tight, but they do appear to be reasonably water-tight. So you're not going to be able to use these containers for leftovers in the fridge or anything like that, but for frozen items -- not only ice cream, but frozen veggies, smoothies, even cut up meat or the like -- they'll work admirably. In my house, though, they'll be used for ice cream and for sending left-over homemade ice cream home with people in the hopes that those receiving them will give them back hoping for refills. ;-) A good quality, solid product! Recommended!

I started making ice cream and needed some containers to store it in. I saw these on Amazon and took the plunge. They're perfect! They're durable and easy to clean. You have to kind of slowly put the lid on and release the initial air that makes the silicone top pop up, but if you do it right, you've got a good seal. My batches are quite a bit larger than the standard pint, so I was looking for a substantial size. These work great without being too big. I usually fill one of these, plus 1/2 a Talenti container. I like that these are dishwasher safe. I've washed them a few times and had no issues. They fit well in my fridge and keep everything very cold. I'm happy with them!

These containers have changed my homemade ice cream procedure for the better. I have been making various flavors for years and have always had storage issues. Glass containers are obviously not ideal for freezing and the plastic containers I had would tend to break when I tried to scoop the ice cream out. The tubs of these containers are very strong and sturdy and hold up great in the freezer. The colorful lids make it easy to differentiate between up to four different flavors. Also of note is that these containers are not just small, single-serve sized. They are capable of holding a large volume, and with the silicone lids, will keep freezer burn at bay for a substantial amount of time. The lids are flexible and fit very firmly on the top. Add to all of this, the containers and the lids are dishwasher safe, and you can’t go wrong on these.

My mom makes homemade ice cream for all the kids' birthdays and I always hate having to throw any away when we're finished. These containers are great! They hold up well in the dishwasher and don't allow any freezer burn on the ice cream that we're now able to save. They are flexible, making it easy to scoop the ice cream out.
