Description
Tailored for Modern Fingerstyle Playing by Virtuoso Jon Gomm In 2012, acoustic guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm exploded onto the world stage with a viral performance of “Passionflower,” a song showcasing his revolutionary and undeniably emotive style. As part of the modern acoustic fingerstyle movement pioneered by luminaries such as Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges, Jon incorporates percussive taps, slapped harmonics, and alternate tunings, among other advanced techniques. In pushing the acoustic guitar to its limits, he has made numerous modifications to his past instruments to maximize their music-making potential. Teaming with Ibanez, Jon has designed an instrument that is precisely tailored for modern fingerstyle technique and available to you: the Ibanez Jon Gomm Signature JGM5 Acoustic-electric Guitar. The JGM5 boasts a tapping-friendly, asymmetric jumbo body; an extended 25-3/4-inch scale length; and a Fishman PowerTap Earth Blend preamp to highlight even the subtlest nuances of a performance.
