  • Great Guitar
Great guitar for the price. The Ibanez Gio GRGR131EX looks amazing with its sleek matte black finish and feels comfortable to play. The neck is smooth and fast, making it perfect for beginners and even intermediate players.

  • Love this guitar!
I bought this as my first Electric Guitar and honestly I couldn't be happier with it. The sleek, black look and feel of it, is just so metal. With the right amp, it sounds incredible and overall it's very comfortable, feels great to hold and the strings aren't hard to press down. Easy to play.

  • Overall very good
Guitar looks awesome with the matte black finish. String action is low in a good way, other cheap guitars usually have very high string height from what I’ve experienced. Humbuckers look great. I appreciate getting a maintenance manual and a truss road screw driver with the package. The packaging itself was great, bubble wrap for cushions while the guitar itself is in its own box and cushioning. Overall for $250, the quality is shown as it should at this price point $250. Only complaint is the fretboard markers are not really visible as the black color blends in with the already painted black fretboard. At least the dots are on the side for marking. ... show more

  • Piece of utter garbage (Review edit)
Originally this was a good review. But after only a couple weeks, the volume knob just..broke..No idea what happened, but it ended up spinning freely, and no longer doing anything. I have been playing guitar for 25 years, and never once had this problem happen, and I know how to not over-rotate a knob. This was NOT user error. I ended up returning it, and then went to one of the local Guitar Center stores to see what was in stock. Sadly the ones around me are constantly low on styles/brand/features I like, so I had to have them order a new guitar from the site. The reason I'm telling this part of the story is because this listing says it's from Sweet Water, which is a really well known retailer. The people at Guitar Center told me they are pretty sure Sweet Water doesn't even HAVE an Amazon page, as they wouldn't need one. So there's a high chance this seller is a bunch of bootlegged stuff using the Sweet Water name to trick people into buying their cheap bootlegs. ... show more

  • My son is happy with it!
At first, we thought it was scratched, but when we peeled off 2 layers of plastic it was fine.

  • Disappointing
I have a couple of Ibanez guitars and always felt they were decent for the price but this model is just terrible in every way. It feels very cheap. Frets are razor sharp. Appearance is like a toy. Sounds flat and I don’t believe I can adjust out the buzz. Very poor for a generally good company.

In my opinion and granted it's my first guitar... I bought it after a Youtuber eytachpi42 did a long review on it. I haven't regretted it since. It's very versatile. The switch changes from 5 positions. The humbuckers are perfect for beginners. I have been learning through JustinGuitar on YouTube and there's nothing I can't play along with. Granted I don't think the humbuckers are at pro level but if you're not a pro then don't worry. I just bought Seymour Duncan Black Winter Humbucker Bridge and a Seymour Duncan Sentient humbucker for the neck and I can't wait to add them. This guitar screams heavy metal and so that's why I bought them but they are versatile just like this guitar and it sounds with stock really great but I want next level. Those humbuckers as a set cost the same as my guitar so I'm crazy but I love this guitar so much I didn't want to buy another. The black is Matt Black so no finger prints, I wished the back of the guitar was black but I'm okay. Definitely but lock in tuners. The dots on the side of the neck tell you where the fret is you're looking for. Anyways I hope it helps. Oh and tc electronic MojoMojo sounds crazy good on this guitar! Updated pictures and my rig.. I changed the knobs. LOL ... show more
