  • Shread ready without the strings breaking
Color: Transparent Black Sunburst Style: Guitar
I have owned this guitar for a little over three months now, I’ve been writing my own tracks (which are very intense), and to my surprise this guitar is practically immortal, I shread this guitar every day and the strings still hold up like it’s brand new from day 1. Very beautiful, I highly recommend this guitar for new players as well, I was able to kind of teach myself with this guitar, the sound quality is very good. I have no bad opinion about it, the price is also priced just right for this amazing product! ... show more

  • A great guitar for the price
Color: Transparent Violet Sunburst Style: Guitar
I just took delivery of the Ibanez GRX 6 guitar in transparent violet sunburst. This is my third venture into less expensive but highly rated guitar brands. I now own over 20 assorted. Most are upline and from Martin, Gretsch, Gibson, Fender, and Epiphone. This guitar plays and sounds as well as my Fender Telecaster. Delivery was two days earlier than promised. Box arrived in pristine condition. Set up was almost in tune. All strings tuned down 1/2 pitch from standard. Took about a minute to get it up and running. Finish is flawless, and it plays nice up and down all the frets. The HSH pickup setup is great. I get five distinct voices and all are great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a real looker and player. Plays as well as any guitar costing $700 +. This was on sale and in stock just in time for the Holidays. The tuners are smooth as glass, and the OEM strings are even good. I will leave the OEM strings on for a month or so. ... show more

  • Great quality at a better price
Color: Transparent Violet Sunburst Style: Guitar
Bought this as my son’s first electric guitar, and it has not disappointed. Keeps tune like a higher end guitar, and the sound quality matches as well. Would recommend for advanced or beginner

  • Well made for the price
Color: Transparent Violet Sunburst Style: Guitar
Some of the other reviews had me a bit worried about ordering this guitar, however, after getting my own I can say that this is a well made guitar for the price point. The color (on mine) was definitely more of a magenta than a true violet (not a deal breaker by any means) but I still love the instrument and it is quite beautiful, however this was the only reason I could think on not giving a 5 star review. The guitar was set up nicely right out of the box, all I had to do was tune the strings, but it is very playable and the intonation sounds good to me, and the neck relief was spot on, so, props to the luthier on a well made and properly setup guitar! It holds it's tune reasonably well. The frets are smooth and nothing sharp catches on my fingers; something I've seen happen on more expensive guitars and reputable brands... The nut is plastic, but there are no buzzing frets anywhere on the neck. The body is slender and stylish. The countours are very comfortable. It is weighty and feels solid. All of the pickups work well and the selector switch does fine, and I don't heard any crackling when I turn the knobs. Overall, it's a great guitar for intermediate players looking to get something a little nicer to practice with. The packaging was a little light, leaving something to be desired (especially with the tape job) but there was just enough foam to prevent it from being damaged in transit... Maybe I was just lucky, because sometimes the couriers can be a bit rough with package handling and I quite frequently get damaged boxes (and goods)... Coupled with some of the other reviews noting damage, this is a valid cause for concern. However, there wasn't a scratch on mine. ... show more

  • Incredible Guitar for Your Dollar
Color: Transparent Red Burst Style: Guitar
I owned an Ibanez GIO back in the early 2010s and always thought it was a decent guitar. So, after several years hiatus and wanting to get back into playing, I found this GIO GRX70 on sale at the Amazon Ibanez store. The big selling point for me: the HSH pickup configuration...a nice setup for the dollar. So the guitar arrives. I unbox and find a beautiful piece of craftsmanship! The finish on the body is stellar! The fretboard is smooth with perfect fret height across the fingerboard and no protruding fret ends. The knobs have a smooth glide indicating higher quality; not too loose or too stiff. You get a volume and tone knob that serves each switch position. The switch is a standard 5-position rotater, nothing special. This will let you switch to the following pickup sets: bridge, bridge-middle, middle, middle-neck, neck. The tremolo is an Ibanez branded generic 2-point tremolo that I will most likely seldom use. Out of the box, the action is a bit high for my taste, but not bad, and intonation seems really good. I will nonetheless trip to Guitar Center for a full setup and new strings. The sound of this guitar, pumped thru my Orange Crush 20 Combo is beyond expectations! Each switch position gives a truly unique sound experience, from mellow acoustic-ish to brassy and warm like a clean Tele to hard metal crunch a-la Strat. I find the HSH pickup config to offer more versatility than the typical Strat HHS, which in my opinion is geared toward more high-octane rock only. The neck has a nice arch, thinner than most and very playable for my short, stumpy fingers. And the guitar is very lightweight, yet has an incredibly solid feel. To sum it up, I would consider this GRX70 to be the Subaru of guitars: stylish, rugged, well equipped, versatile, and a lot of bang for your buck. You would have no shame taking this on stage at any skill level, be you a garage band or signed. And a newbie wanting to start your journey down the six-string highway would be so lucky to have this piece of hardware. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend this. ... show more

  • Excellent Instrument for the Price and Beautiful Too!
Color: Transparent Violet Sunburst Style: Guitar
Excellent fit and finish, along with a great sound and playability. Maybe I got lucky but mine arrived perfectly set up and with great intonation. Certainly a nice instrument for the price. The only cheap looking about it to me (though not flawed) was the light, reddish brown fretboard that I assumed was Richlite or some other synthetic material. But came to find out that it is an actual wood called Jatobá or Brazilian Redwood. The one thing I would change is a push-in friction fit whammy bar like on my way more expensive Charvel MJ San Dimas instead of the screw-in one on the Ibanez but then again vintage Strats and their reissues have the same screw-in whammy. bars. Overall I am very impressed with my purchase and would highly recommend it for a beginner's guitar or for someone who would prefer to travel or gig with something cheaper than their uber-expensive guitars. ... show more

  • Well-Made Guitar
Color: Transparent Blue Burst Style: Guitar
Guitar was surprising well-made from China. No high fret and no fret buzz. No protruding fret and very smooth to play without scraping your hand. Sustain was great. Overall, the guitar is well-made and plays great. The pickups sound good; but if you want a more heavy-metal punch or rock, you may want to replace the pickups to something more high-end like EMG or Fishman pickups. Overall, I am very satisfied with the guitar and purchase. ... show more
